List of Indian banks in Dubai UAE

The UAE has a large foreign population, with Indians accounting for 27% of the total population. With the largest population in India, several Indian organizations have established a presence in the UAE. As for the financial sector, there are many Indian banks in the UAE. Although most Indian banks in Dubai do not provide financial services, their branches help the Indian diaspora manage their accounts at home.

This is a complete list of Indian banks and their presence in the UAE. Most of them have an office in Dubai, and some have an office in Abu Dhabi. Except for Baroda Bank, the oldest Indian bank in Dubai, most banks do not have branches here.

We have divided the banks into three major categories, namely;

  • Representative banks 
  • Commercial banks 
  • Commercial banks with limited services 

1- Representative banks

There are several Indian banks in the UAE that are not involved in banking but have opened representative offices. The representative office does not provide regular banking services. They carry out marketing activities.

  • Bank of India

Bank of India has a representative office in Dubai. They are located in the UAE Financial Tower.

  • Andhra Bank 

They have an agent branch situated in the Al Karama area, Dubai.

  • Corporation Bank 

The central delegate office of the company bank is situated in Toronto Building, Bramble Dubai. 

  • Indian Overseas Bank 

This bank has an agent office in Dubai situated at Al Karama. 

  • Oriental Bank of Commerce

Oriental bank of trade has its agent branch in Al Karama, Dubai. 

  • HDFC 

The agent part of HDFC is situated in Exchange Place Street, Dubai.

2- Commercial Banks

Business banks are the banks that complete a wide range of monetary activities like advances, accounts, etc. They follow customary financial standards. 

  • Bank of Baroda 

Bank of Baroda is the most seasoned bank set up in UAE. It is one of the banks that convey monetary tasks in the UAE. 

They give monetary help to the expats and UAE nationals also. They offer the UAE Occupants individual credit, home advance, vehicle advance, bank account, stores account, and numerous different administrations. 

They have 15 branches in the UAE, with more than 6 branches in Dubai.

3- Commercial banks with limited services

Some Indian banks in Dubai operate under the guidelines of the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). They are limited to certain services such as deposits, loans, financial consulting, and investment transaction advice.

  • International Development Bank of India 

IDBI has opened an office in the Dubai International Financial Center. It provides services such as deposits, lending, and financial advice, and investment transactions.

  • State Bank of India

State Bank of India (SBI) operates under the authority of the Dubai Financial Services Authority. Since 2007, it has been providing services in Dubai. SBI has 2 branches in Dubai DIFC. The branch provides several services such as term deposits, financial consulting, lending and organizing investment transactions. The other branch is used solely for management purposes and does not conduct any business.

  • Union Bank of India

It has two branches in the UAE. Dubai Union Bank of India is located in the Dubai International Financial Center. It provides limited commercial activities such as accepting deposits, granting loans, financial advice, setting up investment transactions, etc.

Another branch is the office located on Sheikh Rashid bin Said Al Maktoum Street in Abu Dhabi.

  • National Bank of Punjab

Business operations provided by the National Bank of Punjab consist of accepting deposits and arranging loans. It has a team of consultants to help work with loans, deposits, investments and other financial products.

  • Canara Bank

Canara Bank has two branches in the UAE. It is located in the Dubai International Financial Center, Dubai and Sharjah.

The Al Sur Sharjah office acts as a representative branch, while the DIFC branch provides several services such as deposits, financial product consulting, investment transactions, credit advice and arrangements.
