How to apply for a PCC or good conduct certificate in the UAE

The Police Approval Certificate (PCC) is proof of your good behavior. It applies to applicants currently residing in the UAE, as well as applicants who no longer live in the UAE.

So, a police clearance certificate (PCC), also known as a “good conduct certificate,” is a proof of the person’s criminal record or evidence of the criminal record of the state in which he/she lives. The certificates of good conduct are issued by the police departments in the UAE which reflects that the person has not been charged for a crime or has no criminal precedents or what so ever.

Procedure to apply for the certificate

The PCC applies to applicants who currently reside in the UAE or are no longer residents of the UAE.

You can apply for a certificate online through the Ministry of the Interior’s website moi.gov.ae and its smartphone application MOI UAE used on iTunes and Google Play. You can also visit one of the service centers of the Ministry of the Interior, fill out the application form, and pay the application fee through the electronic payment card to complete the document.

In Dubai, the service can be obtained through the website of the Dubai Police Department or the Dubai Police Smart App. You can also take the form print out and take it offline through the Dubai Police Department.

Required Documents

  1. Recent passport size photos
  2. Copy of the applicant’s passport.
  3. Letter from the beneficiary which should state that he/she has no criminal convictions
  4. A valid Emirates Identification card.
