Documents required for Adults

Looking for documents to renew your Indian passport in the UAE? Fortunately, this process does not require much documentation. for renewal of your Indian passport in the UAE, you need to bring:

  1. Original applicant’s current passport
  2. Applicant’s valid UAE ID

 However, please note that these documents are only required if you are applying for a renewal of your Indian passport with a valid UAE residence visa, and no corrections or modifications are made. In some rare cases, other documents may be required, such as an expired UAE residence visa. In addition, if an applicant holding a UAE residence visa issued in Abu Dhabi / Al Ain is applying for a BLS center in Dubai / Northern UAE, additional documentation will be required. This also applies to Dubai / North UAE visa holders who apply at the BLS Centre in Abu Dhabi / Al Ain. 

In this case, when you renew your Indian passport when visiting the BLS Centre, please also bring a residence permit in the emirate you are applying for, such as a lease contract or a letter from your company proving your work/residence in the emirate. Please note that applicants who renew their Indian passports in Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE must submit documents and applications in person to the BLS Centre.

Documents for the passport renewal of minors

For minors who wish to renew their Indian passport in the UAE, the required documents are as follows:

  1. Original applicant’s current passport
  2. Applicant’s valid UAE ID
  3. Original parents’ current passport (for verification)
  4. UAE ID for both parents (for confirmation).

In addition, both parents need to accompany the child to renew the Indian passport in the UAE.

Process for passport renewal at BLS Centers

Applicants applying for an Indian passport renewal at the BLS Centre do not need to make an appointment in advance.

All that needs to be done is you have to visit the nearest BLS center and get their token number. Applicants can also take photos and photocopies at the BLS Center itself and complete the application form.

When it is their turn, they can submit supporting documents to the submitters at the BLS Centre and pay the fees required to renew their Indian passports. Applicants who renew their Indian passport must also sign the application form in the presence of the submitting officer.

However, this does not mean that your passport will be processed faster.
