Holidays are something which is something everyone wants and waits for them eagerly. UAE is a country where holidays come very frequently, and people use them to rest and have fun or do whatever they feel like doing. In this article, we are going to list holidays that are going to come up in the year 2020, so you can plan your days.

1- New Year’s Day (January 1st):

January 1st is New Year’s Day, which is the beginning of the New Year in the Gregorian calendar. 

2- Al Isra’aWalMi’raj – Ascension:

According to the Islamic calendar, Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj is an Islamic holiday that is observed every year on the 27th of the Islamic month of Ramadan (Rajab). The holiday is the night when Allah leads the Mehmet (PBUH) from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to heaven.

3- Ramadan is expected to begin (April 23rd):

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. Ramadan starts just after the 29th day or the 30th day of Shaaban, so the moon can be seen. Muslims around the world see it as a month of fasting to mark the first revelation of the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

4- Eid-ul-Fitr:

Eid-ul-Fitr is the first day of the Islamic month in Shawwal. It marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and prayer. Muslims participate in public prayers during Eid, listen to khutba (preaching), and give zakat al-Fitr (charity in the form of food).

5- Arafat (Haji) Day (August 29):

This is the second day of pilgrimage to j. At dawn on this day, Muslim pilgrims will reach the nearby hillsides and plains from Mina, called Mount Arafat.

6- Eid Al Adha (Jul 30):

Festival of Sacrifice is the second festival of two Muslim festivals celebrated worldwide each year and is considered to be the more sacred of the two. This was the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son, which obeyed Allah’s orders before his intervention through his angel, Jibrail (Gabriel), and informed him that Accepted his sacrifice. The meat from the sacrificed animal is preferably divided into three parts. Families retain one-third of their share; one-third goes to relatives, friends, and neighbors; the remaining one-third goes to the poor and needy.

7- Al Hijri – Islamic New Year (Aug 19):

Islamic New Year is the day of Islamic New Year and marks the beginning of the new Islamic calendar year. This is the date when the year count increases. 8- Commemoration Day (Nov 30):

Martyrs Day is held in the United Arab Emirates every year on November 30 to pay tribute to the heroes of the UAE who have sacrificed their lives in defense of national sovereignty.

9- Milad Un Nabi – Birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) (Oct 28):

Muslims celebrate the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday on the 12th day of the Islamic rabbi Al-Awal month.

10- UAE National Day (Dec 02):


National Day is celebrated every 2nd December in the United Arab Emirates. It marked the formal nationalization of the UAE and the final federal unification of the seven emirates in 1971, which together constituted a modern state composed of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first President of the late Federation (Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan).
