A child safety seat is required for children up to four years of age, if you fail to do that then AED 400 is fined and you will be slapped with four black dots. The violations like reckless driving, jumping red signal, blocking traffic, lane violations and driving without a registered number plate can lead you to pay a heavy fine of 2000 AED and 23 black points. Overspeeding is the main issue, so Road and Traffic Authority UAE define speed limits on roads, internal roads and residential areas, which are mandatory to follow. So if you violate any speed limit then you will be fined AED 3,000, slapped with 23 black points and have your car impounded for 60 days. If you can’t stay away from your mobile phone while driving then get ready to pay 800 AED and a penalty of 4 black points. If you see some traffic jam and you are overtaking on the hard shoulder then you have 1000 AED and 6 black points.
