UAE COVID-19 vaccine: where to get vaccinated in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

The UAE Health Authority has published a complete list of all clinics and hospitals where UAE residents can get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The voluntary program started in Abu Dhabi and covers Dubai, and residents of the northern UAE can register for free. Different types of vaccines have been used in the vaccination campaign.

The Sino pharm vaccine is given as two injections with an interval of 21 days and is suitable for people aged 16 and over. Developed in China, Sino pharm has an 86% efficiency and was approved for use after a phase 3 trial was found to be effective against coronavirus, according to the UAE regulatory agency. The Pfizer-Biotech vaccine is also available and is vaccinated more than twice, 21 days apart. As of May 24, Pfizer Biotech has been approved for use by citizens under the age of 12. Latifah Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Hatta Hospital and Al Barsha, Al Mizhar and Zabil primary care centers will inject patients between the ages of 12 and 15.

Six DHA health agencies will vaccinate all other eligible patient populations. These are Zabil Primary Health Care Center, Al Mizhar Primary Health Care Center, Nad Al Hamr Primary Health Care Center, Barsha Primary Health Care Center, Uptown Mirdif Medical Fitness Center and Hatta Hospital.

Patients previously infected with COVID-19 no longer need to wait three months before being vaccinated. Instead, they can take it after isolation is complete if the infection is mild or asymptomatic. However, people who participated in a phase III clinical trial; have been vaccinated with one or more doses of any other COVID-19 vaccine; and children under 12 are excluded from sports.

AstraZeneca vaccines are not currently available in Dubai. Since June 29, DHA has begun vaccinating pregnant women against COVID-19.

Elsewhere, Sinopharm and Pfizer injections are administered by the Abu Dhabi Health Service (SEHA) in the capital and can be used by all but participants in a Phase III clinical trial; have been vaccinated with a single or multiple dose of any other COVID-19 vaccine; pregnant women; and children under 12 years old.
