All about the UAE PASS

The UAE has always strived to become a smarter, safer, and happier country. Likewise, the country has now introduced a unique paperless system called the UAE Pass, which will be the only digital identity for all residents. The new pass will replace all other official identification cards and is sufficient for access to any government service.

Since the UAE Smart Pass expires in December 2020, it is now possible to access all public services for residents through the UAE Pass. An official online system creates a national digital identity for each resident that can be used to use a variety of federal and local government services through a single app. With UAEPASS, you no longer need multiple usernames and passwords.

Here’s what you need to know about the new UAEPASS.

The UAE PASS

In early 2020, Smart Dubai launched a plan called the Digital Future. It is part of the Government Development Agenda, a 100-day program designed to promote smart change in the UAE government. Digital Future has also launched six other plans. This clever plan was initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai. The UAE map is part of a plan that aims to transform the country into a smarter and safer country. The Strategic Affairs Committee approved the plan in the Emirate of Dubai on May 1.

Launched in 2018, the UAE Pass is a key element of the UAE’s long-term development strategy, especially in terms of ensuring sustainable infrastructure and the environment.

UAEPASS, known as the “first national digital identity”, is a useful tool for remotely identifying government online services. By itself, a digital ID is equivalent to the true identity of an individual or entity in the UAE.

With UAEPASS, residents can use one user account and password to access over 5,000 government e-services. This smart access tool will soon replace the previously used Smart Pass and Dubai ID solutions.

UAEPASS VS DUBAI ID

Dubai ID was launched by the Dubai Smart Government (DSG) and the UAE Identity Authority (EIDA) specifically for Dubai residents. As the name suggests, it allows people to access all the electronic services provided by the Dubai government through computers or smartphones.

As with Dubai IDs, residents of the capital and other northern emirates can use the UAE Smart Pass for single data entry for government online services. In addition to a single account and password, users can also update their profile, request a UAE ID password reset, and access their previous list of transactions.

The UAE Pass is a joint work of Smart Dubai, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority. This e-signature for single sign-on will replace Dubai ID and Smart Pass solutions and will become a single credential for all government online transactions in the UAE, including paying utility bills and applying for a residence visa. The electronic signature generated by your UAE badge is legally valid for all transactions and documents in the Emirates.

How to get the UAE Pass?

UAE Pass registration is divided into two stages: online registration and then a physical check at certain kiosks. To register for a travel card in the UAE online, you need:

  • Download UAE Pass app on your phone
  • Scan your original UAE ID to start the verification process.
  • Confirm information and set a password (not told to anyone)
  • Go to the UAE Pass kiosk near you for a final check.
  • Insert your UAE ID into the self-service machine and follow the instructions on the screen.
  • Scan your fingerprint to obtain UAE Pass login credentials

How it works?

The UAE Pass simply provides a unique identifier for everyone. It can be accessed via a smartphone and even includes digital signature capabilities. With one username and one password, residents can access over 5000 government services! No paper ID is required as all content will be stored on your system and can be accessed through your pass.

When you need to complete formal work and submit paperwork, you can do so remotely from home. The digital signature feature allows you to sign official documents and authorize services anytime, anywhere. You can even get a business license in just 15 minutes! All of these efforts help support Smart Dubai’s efforts to make Dubai the safest, smartest and happiest city in the world.

This plan is in line with the country’s goal of reaching the UAE’s centenary in 2071 and becoming smarter and happier.
