Huawei Mate 30 Pro Detail Specification

Huawei started active development in 2019 with its excellent P30 Pro phone, but things have slipped since then. Fearing that its equipment could be used to monitor the United States and other companies, the Chinese technology giant was banned from using American companies' technology. Therefore, it cannot obtain a license for Google Mobile Services. The latest flagship Mate 30 Pro does not ...have a Google Play Store or Google Maps, Gmail, and YouTube apps. It has the fantastic appearance of a futuristic tablet of aluminum and glass, but I know that I started a journey shortly after launching the Mate 30 Pro. Encourage me to enter AppGallery; this is Huawei's Google Play Store version, the most popular app I downloaded. Weibo, WeChat, and Chinese Drama Channels soon became apparent that Huawei does not have much to offer to non-Chinese customer service.

Design
The Mate 30 Pro feels luxurious. Every inch of it is polished, shiny, and rounded. On the other hand, it is even less practical than previous Huawei flagships.
The display has curved edges that wrap around the sides at an angle of almost 90 degrees. It's similar to Samsung's flagship store but more curved. Huawei sells it as a horizon display, while others refer to it as a “Waterfall” display. It doesn't matter what you want to call it.
There are still bezels on the sides of the screen, and most of the time, you can't see them. To achieve this bezel-free look, Huawei makes the metal frame much thinner than other phones. The usability is not a problem, and it feels good well.
Huawei gave up the physical volume rocker, which replaced it with a software solution. I hope Huawei will keep the real buttons because software replacement is not so suitable. To activate it, you need to double-click the power button on the edge of the screen directly above. It's easy to do, especially with one hand or during a call. Volume control is one of the essential things that should be as simple as possible, and software control feels like an unnecessary return. The power button is still there in its place, and it works well.
Mate 30 Pro's glass edges are as smooth as you would expect.  On the backside, Huawei replaced the square camera module of the Mate 20 series with around camera. The polished “halo” around the camera reminds me of some point and shoot cameras. Considering that smartphones have killed the product category, this is ironic.
The backside of the phone is polished glass with a mirror effect. If you decide not to have a case, fingerprints and dirt will always be a problem. The bottom of the phone is equipped with a USB C port, speakers, and a hybrid SIM/memory card tray. Most importantly, you will find features that most other competitors do not provide today. An infrared transmitter that lets you control your TV, AC power, and other equipment.

Mate 30 Pro is available in black, space silver, cosmic purple, and emerald green. The pictures in the Mate 30 Pro review belong to the space silver model. The emerald green version has a gradient color-the lower part of the back frosted, while the area around the camera is smooth.

Display
The Mate 30 Pro has a beautiful Samsung-made Gorilla Glass 6 AMOLED screen. The resolution and pixel density are lower than the Mate 20 Pro, but I don't see any sharpness. Overall, the display of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro looks the same as the display on the P30 Pro, which is excellent.
Huawei has retained it to make room for selfie cameras, depth sensors, and notched 3D face unlocking systems. It is now slightly smaller.
The fingerprint reader works very well. It is still not as fast and reliable as the rear scanner, But it can complete the job. It is low on the screen, so it is a bit awkward to use with one hand. In most cases, the system's fast and accurate laser-based face unlock system will unlock your phone before you need to touch the sensor.

Performance
The standard setting for smartphone performance is too high, but Mate 30 Pro clears it quickly. Although technically an engineering sample, the phones I tested still felt lightning fast and smooth. This is all thanks to the Kirin 990 chip at the core of the Mate 30 Pro. Over the years, Huawei has invested heavily in its silicon, which means that despite being banned by the United States, it can still incorporate the most advanced chips in its latest phones. At least for the next few months, The Kirin 990 will become the most advanced processor of all Android phones.
Be it 128GB or 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM means you don't need to worry about bottlenecks. Like the P30 Pro and Mate 20 Pro, the dual SIM tray can also be used as a storage slot for Huawei's proprietary Nano memory card.

Battery
Huawei launched a fast 40W charging solution on the Mate 20 Pro. One year later, it is still one of the best on the market. The Mate 30 Pro has not improved on this key indicator, but it does bring improvements to all other departments. The capacity of the battery is now 4,500mAh, compared to the previous generation battery capacity of 4,200mAh.

According to our tests, the Mate 30 Pro battery can be fully charged in just 70 minutes. Quick charge 15 minutes to charge your phone 39%.

Camera
Huawei chose to invest more hardware in the camera problem. Both methods have their advantages, but Huawei's hardware-centric concept brings a varied and flexible camera experience. This is not the most seamless and user-friendly camera phone, But Mate 30 Pro is easy to use. The camera settings of the Mate 30 Pro are similar to those of the P30 Pro, with two notable features. The noticeable feature is the use of a new 40MP sensor in the wide-angle camera. This relatively large sensor can get better and brighter images in the wide-angle shooting. This feature is also used by default when shooting videos. Another difference is that the Mate 30 Pro only provides 3x optical zoom, instead of the P30 Pro's 5x periscope optical zoom. The primary sensor is 40MP and uses the RYB pixel setting to replace typical green pixels with yellow pixels that capture more light. Thanks to this sensor, a bright f / 1.6 lens with OIS and some software magic, the phone can take photos in a near-dark environment.
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will be available in UAE. It will be available in black and space silver, with a retail price of Dh3599. The device will be on display at the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, and the Huawei Experience Store in downtown Mirdif.
