Samsung Galaxy M40 Detail Specification

Samsung has added another member of its millennial center M series-the Galaxy M40. The most important thing is its “infinity-O” display, which is essentially a cutout punched in the screen, without the need to place a notch to place the front camera.

With this, Samsung now has a whole set of new phones ranging from 8K 20K to Rs. This is its strategy from an earl...ier period, but like Xiaomi, the main competitor, the new series offers more than the old J series More value and series of phones. The new lineup is a complete update to the M40, where the M40 brings a new triple camera, a hole-punching front camera and a new way to transmit audio through the display, but still lags in some respects M30, which makes it worth buying.

Design and Display
The M40 is packaged in a polycarbonate body. However, the back of the phone has an entirely different gradient style, with the curved sides having a slightly lighter shade of blue, and the flat parts are dark blue. Please note that in our review of midnight blue in the variant, the color of the seawater blue variant is more white and light blue. The Samsung logo in the corners and the center of the Galaxy A50 with rainbow-like reflections looks beautiful.
The rims are also painted blue, made of aluminum, and the shiny corners make them look like a rear panel, with individual parts on the sides. The rear panel is smooth to the touch. The three-in-one camera array on the back is located in the module in the upper right corner, and the middle sensor has a silver ring with an accent symbol above it. The real difference in the design is the front, which has a hole in the front camera. This is a full-screen phone like the Galaxy SE or Galaxy S10, but there is a small hole on the upper left corner of the screen instead of the top right.
In addition to the slightly thicker chin, the other bezels are very slim, which increases the ratio of the screen to the body. Therefore, unless the hole is suitable for you, you will get the most significant screen occlusion and the smallest occlusion. Even though the phone has a large screen, it still feels relatively compact in terms of holding, and the overall appearance is excellent. It must be noted that the polycarbonate material on the back is extremely easy to scratch, especially if you are not a good caretaker of the phone. The corners may lose their luster. For the main glass front panel, it is always recommended to use a back cover to provide additional protection to the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy M40 has a 6.3-inch screen (LCD) with full HD + resolution. As mentioned earlier, this setting allows the M40 to achieve a high screen ratio of about 90%. Samsung is famous for its AMOLED display on its cheap phones, but the M40 looks like an exception here. For unknown reasons, the M40 M20 uses the same LCD panel. We think this is a cost adjustment to accommodate other features like cameras and design Initiatives. However, the display performance is impressive. The viewing angle of the M40 is the largest, and has the maximum brightness, with clear sunlight clarity. We won't say that color and black are as influential as the AMOLED panel on the M30, but it can still provide sound display effects for watching movies or general use. Another advantage is that the M40 has been certified by Widevine L1, which means that you can stream high-definition content from Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. on your mobile phone up to the resolution of the display. Samsung emphasized that many mainstream manufacturers (such as Xiaomi, Honor, Realme) have pointed out that their phones do not have a given certification.

Camera
The Samsung Galaxy M40 is equipped with three cameras on the back, which is more potent than siblings. It has a 32MP primary camera and an f / 1.7 aperture, as well as an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera (with a 123-degree field of view) and a 5MP sensor for depth mapping. A 16MP front camera is drilled into the hole. Samsung's scene recognition algorithm powers the camera. This means that the shooting will be optimized after judging the scene. This is a fairly old feature, but for novices, photography will be slightly more natural. Its camera application has all the basics, such as slow-motion, super interval, 4K video, real-time focus (Samsung's portrait mode). Like most other phones in the series, the primary 32MP camera impresses most in bright natural light but does not perform well in severe lighting conditions. If you compare it with rival phones such as the Redmi Note 7 Pro A2 Mi A2, the product is slightly behind in collecting details when shooting in low light.
Photography enthusiasts can use the wide-angle to get creative and take original photos, but don't expect it to make things like the S10 or even the OnePlus 7 Pro. There is a constant problem with the wide-angle cameras of the M30 and M40, that is, failure to retain details. Regular pictures are very much like Samsung. Meaning that they are already saturated and look good enough for social media posts, but lack features and clarity. However, what works well is portraits with impressive edge detection capabilities. You can control the background blur of the image, and the daylight portrait looks good. In general, the depth-sensing is excellent on the M40.

Performance
The Samsung Galaxy M40 is powered by the Snapdragon 675 chipset, which is a reliable choice for products priced below Rs 20,000. It has a 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Redmi Note 7 Pro also has the same chipset, but the price is slightly lower.
With this configuration, the performance of the M40 is considerable. When used in moderation, the Snapdragon 675 can power most tasks. However, you cannot expect extreme levels of multitasking. There are hardly any signs of significant lag in our new unit. But this is not the best performing device in the field. Compared with Redmi Note 7 Pro, the M40 has slightly worse features, but it feels better to use due to its smooth One UI experience.
Since PUBG Mobile is still fascinated by young people, we played it on the M40.  We would even say that if performance is a priority, then buying a POCO F1 is always a better choice. For ordinary users, if your scope of use revolves around Facebook, Twitter and adds some casual games such as Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, and other applications, the M40 will not be disappointing. You are looking for a suitable media consumption device.
The Samsung Galaxy M40 was launched in June 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for the price of AED 836. It has a 6.3-inch PLS TFT display with 1080x2340p (FHD +) resolution. The smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon 675 processor and an Adreno 612 GPU.
