Xiaomi Redmi 8A Detail Specification

Few brands can claim to define an entire smartphone. Xiaomi knows how to create stellar hardware that redefines value, and with a few exceptions, it has consistently released the best entry-level and mid-range phones. Redmi 7A, when we researched it earlier this year, is a reasonably stable package that can keep up with the pace of competition. Fast forward the Redmi 8A, and it seems that Xiaom...i has intensely criticized this criticism.

Design
Although the Redmi 7A has made some minor adjustments, Xiaomi has caught up with the Redmi 8A's design trend in 2019. Between the notch of water droplets and the brand-new rear panel, this is a phone that looks better than its price.
Starting from the front, the side of the large 6.2-inch display is a side frame that is not too large. There is a little thickness at the bottom, but at this price, there is no need to complain. However, the water drop will cut into the depth of the display, watch the video. Maybe a bit annoying. The IPS LCD used here is not bad. I took it out and took it away, and in most cases, I had no problems watching it outdoors. The color is a bit soft because of the low resolution of 720 x 1520, a certain degree of softness will be found after careful inspection, but these are all necessary compromises that can reduce the price.

Compared with Redmi 7A, Xiaomi has increased the size of the display, and the phone is no longer so compact. Combined with the large bezel, the Redmi 8A may be a bit awkward. Using it with one hand will be difficult, if not impossible. Cell phones are quite fat, but this can be compensated by the large battery. To be fair, despite the battery size, the Redmi 8A weighs just 188g, which is incredible.
The tactile feedback on the buttons is great, and there really is nothing to suggest that this is a free entry-level phone. The missing IR blaster may be annoying, but if this can make up for the cost of the USB-C port, then I will be satisfied with this compromise. In fact, Xiaomi has taken a step forward and also added support for 18W fast charging to do this, and you must purchase a separate charger; 10W bricks are included in the box.

The headphone jack is still ubiquitous on entry-level hardware. Yes, there is also a Redmi 8A. In addition, on both sides of the USB-C port are speaker grills. The audio output of the headphone jack is clean and bright, although when using my 1More Triple Driver headphones, I noticed some hissing and lack of dynamic range. Unfortunately, the speakers are not too loud. The music sounds low, bass, and medium. There is almost no difference in sound.

Battery
The perfect improvement is a massive 5,000mAh battery. I think this is the most relevant change in Redmi 8A. Phones cater to users who travel frequently, make a lot of calls, and usually push the battery to its limits.

Camera
Redmi 8A uses a 12MP IMX363 camera sensor. From the perspective, this is the same sensor as the Pixel 3a series. However, the sensor alone does not provide excellent image quality, and unfortunately, the Redmi 8A lacks its own in this department, Even with HDR turned on, the dynamic range is limited, and the camera tends to blow out the highlights completely. The image has an inherent softness, and even in bright light, it is often difficult for mobile phones to obtain focus lock.
Low light shooting is not terrible, but again, you can find bursting highlights in the reflections. This phone uses a significant noise reduction function to add a soft and ubiquitous feel to the lens. The 8MP front-facing camera can take reasonable selfies. By default, it will use clumsy beauty filters, and you can switch it off.
Many features of the camera include portrait mode. Phones use a single camera to enable this feature, and edge detection is not very good at all.
The maximum video output is 1080p, 30FPS. -, and display compression artifacts. You can manage pretty good material in a well-lit environment, but you absolutely do not want to shoot in low-light conditions.
