Šiauliai State College has proved that during more than ten years of its activity it has been acknowledged to be a Higher School in which qualified studies have been pursued. The studies are practice – orientated; modern and democratic environment of College has been created.
Šiauliai State College offers more than 20 study programmes for its students. The programmes include biomedica...l, social and technological fields. Such a wide spectrum of study programmes has been indicated by needs of labor market and perspectives of the development.
In 1962-1973 Šiauliai K. Didžiulis Polytechnic School, which later became Šiauliai Higher Technical School with a branch in Mažeikiai. Construction study programme has been implemented for 55 years.
10 college study programmes were pursued when Šiauliai State College was established (in 2002–2003), number of which doubled during the existence of the College.
In 1992 students established their club “Rakštis”. In 1997 Šiauliai Higher Technical School which replaced Šiauliai K. Didžiulis Polytechnic School had 47 computers (only 3 of them were connected to the internet). In 1998 first organized conference took place at Šiauliai Higher Education school. The scientific event was aimed for tourism specialists and their training.
In 2002 a group of experts carried out an external evaluation of Šiauliai Higher Technical School and recommended to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania to grant the right to carry out non-university higher studies. On 1 September 2002 Šiauliai Higher Technical School became the Faculty of Business and Technologies of Šiauliai College.
Šiauliai Nurses School which later turned into Šiauliai Higher Medical School, and in 2002 it became a Faculty of Health Care of Šiauliai State College did not have its own premises till 1973 (it moved from one location to another for five times).
The director’s office of Šiauliai Higher Medical School for the longest term i.e. for 26 years (1981–2007) was held by doctor Algimantas Baublys. Nurses, currently called General care nurses, have been trained in Šiauliai for 70 years already.
After the institutional assessment in 2014 the Šiauliai State College was accredited for a maximum period of 6 years. Children and grandchildren of the graduates of Šiauliai State College choose the same college. In 2016 6 new international cooperation agreements were signed. According to the data of 1 January 2017 Šiauliai State College had 92 foreign partners in 21 country.
Šiauliai State College follows the concept of lifelong learning. 135 out of more than 600 freshmen, that started their studies in 2016, already have a second education. The age of our graduates range from 21 to 60 years. Šiauliai State College acts in compliance with the certified quality management system. Since 2016 Šiauliai State College has a blog called MY COLLEGE.
The teachers, students and administrative staff of Šiauliai State College share the latest information, facts, impressions after the events, etc. About 40 percent of graduates on their graduation day are already employed. About 60 percent of graduated students study state-funded places.

In 2016-2017 170 teachers work at the Šiauliai State College: 5 professors, 21 associate professors, 117 lecturers, 27 assistants. 34 teachers have a doctoral degree.
Two employees of Šiauliai State College were awarded the nomination of “The Knight of Profession” that was established in 2016 by Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.
In 2015-2016 five employees of Šiauliai State College received certificates of appreciation from the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania.
In 2016 lecturer Jonas Skiauteris received Commemorative Medal from the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science. The average age of our college professors is 46 years. Šiauliai State College has over 50 strategic social partners.
Šiauliai State College belongs to furniture industry cluster “Baltic Furniture Cluster” and “Lithuanian Plastics Cluster”. The College is a member of the United Nations Global Compact network, annual College activity reports are prepared.

Possibilities of exchange programme "Erasmus+” are exploited: students go to Turkey, Portugal, Malta and other countries to study and carry out the practice, academic staff not only teaches, but gains experience abroad as well.
We encourage students during 3 or 4 years to take advantage of every opportunity to learn, experience, grow, excel and not only to study but also to experience the student life, i.e. to enjoy the freedom of choice granted by being young and change the way they find the best for them.
We take care of all our community members, because we believe that in order to achieve the same goals we have to act in unison. We are recognized not only in Šiauliai region, but also throughout Lithuania. The increasing number of students from abroad shows that the College is recognized abroad as well.
While enjoying our achievements we do not forget to change ourselves as well, because changes incite the progress.
Taking into account the needs of the market, the advice of the social partners, we improve study programmes and, therefore, we are very proud to say that the employers value the graduates of Šiauliai State College.
