Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) is Malaysia"s leading university dedicated to the creation of knowledge in the fields of science, engineering and technology, with a strong emphasis on innovative research and development. UTP is the first and only private university in Malaysia to be rated a maximum 5-star overall rating in the QS Stars University Rating System. Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS... (UTP) was established on 10 January 1997 and is a leading private university in Malaysia. UTP is a hive of activity any given time of the year with an active student community, hardworking faculty members, regular events and constant happenings. UTP offers a wide range of industry-relevant engineering, science and technology programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It aims to produce well-rounded graduates with excellent leadership qualities and communication abilities.
The university conducts extensive research activities in collaboration with PETRONAS and other institutions and industries, locally and abroad, on six research focus and niche areas. They are self-sustainable building, transport infrastructure, health analytics, hydrocarbon recovery, contaminant management and autonomous system.
UTP has produced more than 15,000 graduates and currently has an enrolment of over 1,200 foundation students, 6,000 undergraduates and 1,200 postgraduates from more than 66 countries around the world. The University will assist needy students in applying for financial aid and grants for their studies from various sources including Dana Pendidikan Negara, state foundations, public agencies and private companies. Further enquiries on financial aid can be directed to Sponsorship & Welfare unit.
UTP is proud of its close relationship with the industry partners. Industrial collaborations, combined with our strengths in long term strategic research, indicate that in addition to support excellence in science, our research produces exploitable knowledge. The knowledge is then commercialized to generate wealth hence contributing to the quality of life.
UTP is well-equipped to offer multi-disciplinary consultancy services and products with over 300 active in-house consultants. From sample testing to short courses to lab services and prototyping; the consultancy unit can provide solutions for virtually any sector or industry. One of the key agenda of the university is to become a preferred partner of choices to provide multi-discipline consultancy services and products.
UTP has more than 300 active in-house consultants in the various fields of specialization and they are well prepared to undertake any sectors from the consultancy services. Apart from the expertise within the University, we have also established knowledge partnerships with external parties from within and outside of the country to undertake consultancy services as to meet the market demand.
