Ibri College of Technology is one of the Regional Colleges of Technology under the Ministry of Manpower in Oman, alongside with Musanna, Nizwa, Ibra, Salalah, and Shinas in addition to the Higher College of Technology in Muscat.Ibri College of Technology is the youngest among the other seven Colleges of Technology in Oman with its current population of 3,206 students studying in various program...s. The college accepted its first intake in September of 2007 with 347 students all in the foundation program.
The programs offered in Colleges of Technology is of the same academic standards approved and monitored by experienced educators in the Higher College of Technology (HCT) in Muscat to ensure that students need in the industry and globally is sustained. The College has four Academic departments: English Language Center, Engineering, Information Technology (IT), and Business Studies.
Our vision is that we will be a leading technological institution, providing high quality teaching and learning to prepare and empower the Omani professionals of the future to contribute to national socioeconomic development.
Our mission is to deliver high quality student-centered education that produces competitive graduates who enter the labor market with confidence, strong technological and personal skills, prepared for life of contribution and success.
The English Language Centre aims to develop students" linguistic proficiency by promoting active learning and use of English through extensive practice in all the language skills needed in various academic situations and the labour market. It also aims to enable students to attain an advanced level competency in critical thinking skills, communication skills, and study skills.The English Language Program at ICT is divided into two parts; Foundation and Post-Foundation. The Foundation Program consists of four levels; Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4. Students in each level study the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary, except in Level 4 where students study the skills of language and projects. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Program, students continue on to their specializations in the Post-Foundation program.
Once in the specialization or the Post-Foundation level, students continue to take courses from the English Language Centre; Technical Writing I, Technical Writing II, Technical Communication and Public Speaking, which are all required as part of their degrees. There is a plan to start ESP courses in the Post Foundation program in the near future.There will be English for Engineering; English for Business; and English for Information Technology. These courses will enrich the learner with some terminology related to his area of specialization and consequently facilitates the process of learning. Material of such courses will be selected in cooperation between English Language Centres and the concerned department in the Post Foundation program.
The Department of Administration and Financial Affairs is one of the most important college’s departments. It has three divisions as Finance, Human Resources, and Administrative affairs.The department strives to provide exemplary services to students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors of Ibri College of Technology, that are technologically advanced and customer-centered. Staffs in the department are proud to steward the human, physical, and financial resources of Ibri College of Technology in pursuit of its mission.In addition, our staff seeks to offer exceptional service to all College employees and to contribute to continuous improvement and development within the College. Finally, we work to maximize the resources available to the College through sound financial and administrative management practices.

More than 25 Student Affairs professionals work daily with academic staff and students to meet the needs of our diverse student. They provide the support for students to reach their highest potential. Departments within Student Affairs do their best not only to meet specific student needs, but to provide general student direction and guidance, including referral to resources available both within and outside the college.
The Quality Management System (QMS) in Ibri College of Technology (IbriCT) has been established according to the ministerial decision to assure the compliance of the qualifications awarded by the colleges with set standards. The Quality Management process ensures that all the activities at IbriCT are planned, implemented and assessed effectively and efficiently to meet the national standards. Further, it ensures the continuous improvement in all activities of the college. The QMS directs the college in developing Vision, Mission, Goals and Strategic Plan, and in achieving them. It guides the college in developing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures, and in assessing their effectiveness. The implementation of QMS across various departments/centers of the college, is done by the college management through the Quality Assurance Unit(QAU).
The Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) has been established by the Dean of the college according to Articles 94 and 95 of the bylaws. The main objective of the QAU is to enhance quality culture at Ibri College of Technology. The unit comprises the chairman, head and quality officers.
