Oman College of Management and Technology (OCMT) was established in 2004 as a private college by the decree of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in its letter.
OCMT strives to provide the local community an environment which is conducive for effective teaching–learning process by well qualified professionals supported by latest technological facilities. Keeping in view, the vision and mission of the College, Oman College Library is located in Hay Asem and Al Haram Campuses.The Library has a capacity of more than 100 users which is being managed by the qualified Staff. The Library acts as the main Learning Resource Centre of Excellence in the field of Computer Science, Finance & Accounting, Business, Management, MIS, Interior Design, with some Arabic collections in all these subjects.
Library is made fully automated using Library Management System Software which is user friendly. The users can access library data through OPAC. The Collection of this Library is around 8631 books and EBSCO is also subscribed which is an Online Resource. The Library is provided with wireless network whereby the user can access the internet using their Laptops.
The College library has 2 reading sections for boys and girls, where the students can refer the books available. The library organizes Orientation for all new students joining for each semester.
The Scientific Research and Staff Development Unit (SRU), in coordination with the Scientific Research Committee, concerns with supporting and empowering faculty members and students to undertake their research activities and to present the best of their scientific research. This is accomplished by assessing and refereeing the submitted papers and suggesting them to choose the best ones to participate at Omani higher education institutions, Scientific Conferences, National & International Conferences, National & International Journals and at various research programme platforms.
The education system at Oman College of Management & Technology is based on credit hours system. The academic year is divided into two semesters: the first semester extends from September to January, while the second semester from February till May. The study programs are characterized by quality that provides students with flexibility to accommodate with the requirements of the labor market and satisfy personal interests.The maximum study load for each semester is (18) credit hours, and the minimum is (12) credit hours. Due to the importance of English, it is used as the medium of study in all College departments.
