The Camarines Norte State College shall provide higher and advance studies in the field of education, arts and science, economics, health, engineering, management, finace, accounting, business and public administration, fisheries, agriculture, natural resources development and management and ladderized courses. It shall also respond to research, extension and production services adherent to pro...gressive leadership towards sustainable development.
Currently, CNSC is headed by its 4th president Dr. Monsito Gueriña Ilarde, who sworn into office on August 16, 2012.His administration is determined to make CNSC a premier Higher Education Institution in the Bicol Region. His able leadership is geared towards excellence in the institution’s four mandated functions of instruction, research, extension and production in order to meet the demands for internationalization and globalization.
The college enforces the principle of selective retention. The college also reserves the right to refuse admission or readmission and retention.Only students who are officially enrolled shall be admitted to their classes. In exceptional cases, the College Registrar may, upon the recommendation of the Dean/Director concerned, authorize the admission of a visitor to a class for not more than five sessions.No admission shall be granted to those who are found to be suffering from communicable or contagious diseases and or fount to be users or dependents of dangerous and prohibited drugs. Drug test results and other supporting documents to show proof of physical and mental fitness may be required as deemed necessary.
Research and Development activities are anchored on the global sustainable development goals – poverty reduction, environment protection and prosperity for all.Extension Services Division has its DISKARTE agenda that aims to provide livelihood trainings and advocacy programs to enhance lives of marginalized communities.The officers of the administration in the College shall be the President, Vice-Presidents, Deans, Directors, Registrar and other officials that may be designated by the BOT.The College is headed by a president and assisted by three (3) vice presidents: vice president for administration, vice president for academic affairs, and vice president for research, extension and production. The vice presidents lead the key functions of the College assisted by the college deans and directors.
The Camarines Norte State College has originated from the Camarines Norte High School (CNHS) which was established in 1920. On June 23, 1973 Parliamentary Bill No. 2378 was approved and signed into law converting Camarines Norte High School to Camarines Norte National High School (CNNHS). It was on the 23rd day of July 1991 when former Congressman Renato M. Unico introduced House Bill No. 31647 in the House of Representatives during its fifth Regular Session.After it was finally passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives, the Bill was signed into Law by Former President Corazon C. Aquino on April 2, 1992 as Republic Act No. 7352 also known as “An Act Converting the present Camarines Norte National High School in the Municipality of Daet into a State College to be known as the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) integrating for the purpose the Abaño Pilot Elementary School in Daet, Mercedes School of Fisheries in Mercedes, National Agricultural School in Labo, and Camarines Norte School of Arts and Trades in Jose Panganiban all in the province of Camarines Norte and appropriating funds thereof.”
The institution’s task is primarily to provide higher technological and professional instruction and training in the fields of economics, agriculture, health, engineering, education, management, finance, accounting, forest research and conservation, business and public administration as well as short-term technical and vocational courses, provide and promote research and extension services, advance studies and progressive leadership in all areas of discipline and responsibilities.
The Camarines Norte National High School, now Main Campus, has an area of 8.4213 hectares within which includes the Eco Athletic Field. It houses the administration, College of Education, College of Business and Public Administration, Graduate School, College of Arts and Sciences, Information Technology Center, College of Engineering and Industrial Technology, Extension and the Main Library.
The Abaño Pilot Elementary School, now Abaño Campus, has an area of 0.8684 hectares. It was established in 1953 and was designated the pilot school of the Division of Camarines Norte in 1959 and later became a regional pilot school by virtue of its good performance in the field of elementary education. Philanthropist Dr. Jose Abaño donated the lot. It houses the Secondary and Elementary Laboratory Schools of the College of Education and the CNSC Training Center.
The Camarines Norte National Agricultural School (CNNAS) located at Talobatib, Labo, Camarines Norte, created under Republic Act No. 1946, in June 22, 1957 is now the site of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Talobatib Campus. It has a land area of 44.43 hectares with 1, 000 hectares forest reserve in Malabtog, Labo, Camarines Norte.The former Camarines Norte School of Arts and Trade (CNSAT), now the College of Engineering and Industrial Technology located in the town proper of Jose Panganiban, also of this province was organized during the early part of 1970 to develop manpower skills and to produce highly trained professionals in the fields of arts and trades.
