History of Lipetsk State Technical University started November 1, 1956 with the Order of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education on the opening evening faculty Tula Mechanical Institute (TMI) in Lipetsk. In the same year, 125 students started their studies on the job in two specialties: "Technology of mechanical engineering, machine tools and instruments" and "foundry machinery and technology." I...n the future, the university has been transformed in the evening department of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys on the basis of the Lipetsk Metallurgical Plant, in 1966 he became an evening branch of MISA in 1972, organized by the Lipetsk Polytechnic Institute, which is May 26, 1994 transformed into the Lipetsk State Technical University. For more than half a century of Lipetsk State Technical University remains unchanged concept of development of the university, to focus its efforts on ensuring the quality of training of highly qualified personnel and raise the profile of engineering education and science.
Innovation and industrial orientation of the region calls for the implementation of Lipetsk State Technical University as a multidisciplinary university provides training to ensure economic growth and modernization, above all, metallurgical, machine-building, building cluster, as well as energy and economy. Science and Education of the University structure includes at 3 institutions: the Metallurgical Institute, Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Research Institute, as well as the 8 departments: Physics and Technology, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Automation and Computer Science, Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences and law, correspondence and Preparatory Faculty.
In Lipetsk State Technical University offers a wide range of educational services of high quality: pre-university training in physics and mathematics school "Eureka", higher education in 43 areas of undergraduate, 6 specialties, 30 master"s programs, 36 postgraduate specialties, 55 programs of study by correspondence, 15 programs of additional professional education and additional training, 16 programs of secondary vocational education.
