Surgut State University was founded in May 1993. The main goal of the development of the University is transformation into a new type of university, supporting and providing innovative economic development of the region through concentration of intellectual potential, modern scientific and educational infrastructure and their approach to the needs of regional business.
The university impl...ements programs of higher education of all levels on a wide range of areas and specialties on the basis of six educational and scientific institutions: Humanitarian Education and Sport, the State and Law, Natural and Technical Sciences, Economics and Management, Medical and Polytechnic Institutions.
