Silla University, founded in 1954, is a university deeply rooted in the Busan community commemorating its 60th anniversary in 2014. Our University was aptly named Busan Women’s University until 1997, for cradling the cultivation of the best professional women talent south of the Han River. Now Silla University is co-educational taking pride in having a clean campus environment located at the ...foot of BaekYang Mountain while overlooking NakDong River, the lifeline of Busan.
Silla is a global-oriented university, which has attracted attention in the fields of internationalization and overseas employment. Our university is also strongly competitive among all of the domestic universities in a variety of fields, including the marine life industry, health care, social welfare, and arts. We are also invested in students’ education and the Industry-University Collaboration Silla University has developed and implemented a variety of programs related to ecology by taking advantage of our natural campus environment to foster the most productive educational atmosphere for staff and students alike. We have been chosen by government agencies for piloting and disseminating projects in an assortment of fields, such as green education institutions, 10 nationwide low-carbon green campuses, and building-energy management systems. Because of this, Silla has taken the lead in green growth education through the introduction of an eco-education certification program in Korea, Japan, and China.

Based on our range of achievements, we are converting the 60th anniversary of our establishment into the first year of the second advancement, through a new paradigm of university development strategies. Silla University has just completed the first phase of the master plan to build campus on the site of 438 acres at the foot of Baekyang Mountain and started the second phase of the master plan to secure sufficient supporting facilities that will help prepare the students for the demands of the rapidly changing society. Silla University will soon be a prestigious private university that is recognized internationally as well as domestically.
