Tongmyong University was established in 1977 by the parent corporation, Tongmyong Lumber, which was one of the leaders in the industrialization of the Republic of Korea in the 1960s and 70s.Tongmyong Institute of Culture & Education was founded by Kang Seok-jin, Honorary Doctor of Philosophy. On March 1, 2006, Tongmyong College, (founded in March 1979) and Tongmyong University of Informatio...n Technology were integrated We firmly believe that the most idealistic way of thinking is the most realistic one. to a new general program university.
University main library, built in March of 2008, is composed of 1 basement and 5 floors with total area 11,486.6㎡. The first floor consists of reading rooms and a librarian desk. The humanities & social science reference room is located on the third floor. The fourth and the fifth floor consist of reference rooms for the architectural engineering design and language literature respectively. Each floor has a main themed reference rooms and designated librarians in charge of service.
