Based on the latest teaching methods tested in Ukraine and abroad, our students become proficient in complicated science of government, thoroughly learn one of foreign languages; acquire skills and practical experience in the capacity of public servants of 1st to 4th categories.
The programs mission in the field of Public Administration is the professional training of highly skilled staff for public administration and local governmental authorities, capable of fulfilling their administrative functions in a creative, efficient and effective way; developing, analyzing and realizing the state policy; encouraging innovative and integrative processes in the society in order to establish social fairness and democracy, ensure human rights and freedoms, continuous growth on the basis of world and European standards.
The institute offers:

• Studying according to the exclusive programs gaining the Master"s degree in public administration. The term of study at the full-time department is 18 months, at the correspondence-distance department and evening department - 30 months.
• Training in courses "Management" and "Economy and Entrepreneurship" gaining the Bachelor"s and Specialist"s degree. The term of study at the full-time department is appropriately 4 and 5 years, at the correspondence department - 4,5 and 6 years.
• Improving qualification of workers to establishments", organizations" and enterprises" order with the use of individual programs including seminars, circles of lectures and practical classes, consultations on the client"s territory.

Over 1800 Masters of Public Administration graduated from the Institute for the space of its existence. About 500 managers acquired a profession, relating to the course of Public Administration, in the following fields: "Management of Organizations", "Personnel Management and Labor Economics ". More than 28000 public servants from 4 North-Eastern regions of Ukraine and the Crimea assisted retraining and improving qualification courses at the department of retraining and improving qualification. All of them occupy themselves with solving practical issues of public policy implementation in the appropriate fields.
The achievements would be impossible without everyday persistent work of the Institute"s staff consisting of creative personalities, talented teachers and scholars. The programs of the Institute are of innovative content. The Institute is the only educational establishment in Eastern region that develops programs using the method of integrative interaction. The programs result from the cooperation among the outstanding scholars in the field of public administration and representatives of public executive authorities and local government together with the specialists, experts and advisers of the leading establishments and organizations in the region.
The scientific activity of Kharkiv Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration attached to the Office of the President of Ukraine (KRI NAPA) is aimed at development of democratic institutional standards of the professional activities of public servants and local government officials, training of top-class research and teaching staff able to provide a practical expert analytical support for the work of the President of Ukraine, central and local bodies of Ukraine"s state power and local governments.
The Institute specializes in Public Administration and Regional Development, which constitute the main trend of research comprising two substantive components. One component expands on the essence of public administration, emphasizing the constructive interaction of all the subjects vested with public authority, their transparency for the society, and coordination of their interests with those of the society. The other component covers the issues of a balanced regional development in a totality of its aspects – economic, social, environmental, regional development institutionalization, ways to attain a balance between regional administration and local governments.
tudies of the world experience of state-formation practices are conducted with the aim of introduction of democratic standards of public administration in Ukraine. Modernization of the national system of training, retraining, and in-service training of public administration staff and local government officials is based on a study of the advanced world developments in the said field with the resulting concrete recommendations as to their application in the practice of the National academy of public administration attached to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The Institute is actively engaged in evaluation of its research results. One of the ways to do it is running scientific communicative events. Every year, KRI NAPA holds regional, all-Ukrainian and international activities. Besides evaluation of research results, this form of interaction the public administrative theory and practice make it possible to discover the problem issues that need scientific and methodological settlement.
