Leeds City College is one of the largest Further Education institutions in the country and operates out of three main campuses – Park Lane, Technology and Printworks – as well as having provisions in smaller community centres across Leeds. It has 1,267 members of staff, over 20,000 students and is one of the biggest providers of apprenticeships nationally. Keighley College and Leeds College... of Music are also part of the Leeds City College Group.
The college provides a vibrant, multicultural learning environment, delivering excellent and innovative education which is supportive, inspiring and life changing. Across the college there are 127 countries represented by students with the diverse staff population adding to that number!
Our courses cover almost all subject areas and include full and part-time academic and vocational qualifications through from basic skills to apprenticeships and A levels to foundation degrees. There is something to suit the needs of everyone from pre and post 16-year-olds to adult learners, employers and businesses.
The college strives to continually meet the needs of local employers, and provides industry standard facilities. It prides itself on building relationships with employer organisations, unions, chambers of commerce, awarding bodies and the local enterprise partnership.
In 2019, Leeds City College will be opening a brand new campus at the heart of the cultural quarter to revolutionise the college’s digital, creative arts and health science provisions.

Leeds City College operates out of four main campuses – Keighley, Park Lane, Technology and Printworks – as well as having provisions in smaller community centres across the region.
In September 2010, Keighley College opened its doors to its first ever intake of students after two and a half years under construction.
Three years later in 2013, Leeds City College’s brand new Printworks Campus opened on Hunslet Road on the site of the former Alf Cooke Printworks, one of the most recognisable industrial landmarks in Leeds.
The College continues to strive towards offering its students enhanced learning environments.
Leeds City College became a legal entity on 1 April 2009 when the corporations of Leeds Thomas Danby College, Leeds College of Technology and Park Lane College Leeds and Keighley simultaneously dissolved and the new Leeds City College corporation was created. Joseph Priestley College subsequently merged with Leeds City College on 1 August 2011.
The Leeds City College corporation (referred to as the Group Board or the Board of Governors) is an independent Further Education (FE) corporation, established under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (the Act). The corporation is administered under Instrument and Articles of Government which are statutory instruments made under the Act which set out the rules for the constitution and operation of the corporation and the machinery for college decision-making.
