The mission of the School of Creative Arts and Engineering is to develop the artists, designers, engineers, actors, writers, poets, historians, diplomats, civic leaders, teachers, geographers, entrepreneurs and international humanitarians of the future. We focus on our students" work readiness as well as educating them to be analytical and active global citizens. In addition to employability and creative skills for the workplace, we develop our students" critical, writing and reflective skills.
We offer undergraduate, postgraduate and research level opportunities across a wide spectrum of disciplines from History to Performance Arts, Philosophy to Geography, Fine Art to Photography, Illustration to Ceramics and Electronic to Mechanical Engineering. Our staff have one foot in industry to make sure our students have as much exposure to their chosen career paths as possible. Visiting speakers, educational and theatre visits, industry briefs and placements enhance academic lectures and stimulating workshop environments.
Our students also benefit from excellent academic resources and well-equipped studio spaces and laboratories at our Stoke campus. Students have the chance to showcase their work at annual public and industry events such as New Designers, GradEX and the Art and Design Degree Show. The School of Health and Social Care offers a range of undergraduate courses, from nursing and midwifery to operating department practice to social work and social welfare.

The School of Law, Policing and Forensics has a range of exciting undergraduate and postgraduate courses spanning academic disciplines from law, through criminology, to forensic investigation.
Flexible full-time, part-time, on-campus and distance learning options fit around the unique needs and lifestyles of our students. Our international partnerships let students study in their home country while earning an internationally-recognised qualification from Staffordshire University. With degrees accredited by the likes of the Law Society, the Chartered Society of Forensic Science and Skills for Justice, everything we do positions our students for the next step in their career. We are also part of a trailblazing consortium working with the College of Policing to reshape police education. This will include new degree apprenticeships for police officers.
Our specialist facilities include forensic science and criminalistics laboratories, a fully functioning crime scene house and mock law courts, all of which provide all students with a hands-on learning experience. Our staff are respected experts in their academic disciplines, and contribute to contemporary debate and technological advances. The School of Life Sciences and Education works with key external partners to deliver courses in psychology, sport and exercise, biological sciences and education. Our courses range from two-year accelerated degrees to fully online Masters degrees to professional doctorates. From day one, students are immersed in exciting, interactive and digitally supported learning opportunities. By focusing on applying research to real-world settings, and by working with employers and key industry and professional partners, we provide students with the skills and networks to maximise their employability and career prospects.
Our staff conduct internationally recognised research which is making a real difference to regional communities. Our courses and research are based on the Stoke-on-Trent campus. There our students, staff and partners enjoy the state-of-the-art learning and teaching spaces on hand within the Science Centre.
With partners in more than 17 countries, our graduates have a global impact. They have gone on to become CEOs, to work in NGOs such as the World Bank, and to be government ministers. But we also have an important role in driving the economic regeneration of Staffordshire and many other counties.
