The American Sign Language Department offers a major in ASL–English Interpretation, a major in Deaf Studies and a minor in ASL Studies. Our curriculum emphasizes work with the Deaf population as a linguistic and cultural minority. Our ASL–English Interpretation program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education.As a graduate of our department, you’ll not only become aware of and sensitive to issues concerning Deafness; you"ll have the potential to become a cultural and linguistic mediator working across diverse communities.

The English and Creative Writing Department offers process-oriented, technologically supported, cross-disciplinary opportunities in literature, writing, and oral communication to help you cultivate your unique voice while preparing you to be a more thoughtful, conscientious citizen. Our goal in AES is to bring like minded people who share many different passions for audio and build a strong community among them. We have events scheduled for each semester.
