From its founding as a women’s educational center in 1889, our institution has consistently been a destination for students looking to make a difference in the world. The main Georgia College campus is located in Milledgeville, a charming, traditional southern town less than a two-hour drive from Atlanta. There is an additional campus location at Robins Air Force Base.

Classes are small at Georgia College. Better yet, 100 percent of them are taught by men and women who love teaching.Some 80 percent have Ph.D.s from top universities. The GC Journeys Program will transform your way of thinking and experiencing college. By participating in five inside and outside the classroom transformative experiences during your time at Georgia College, you will step outside of your usual surroundings, gain authentic experiences, solve problems, become a leader, participate in real-world settings and put ideas into action.
Georgia College welcomes international students and the diverse backgrounds they bring to our campus, and encourages all students to study abroad.The International Education Center works with students, faculty and staff across campus to promote international and cross-cultural learning, as well as respect for diversity – one of the four cornerstones of the Georgia College educational experience - and assists the University in producing graduates who are prepared to accept their responsibilities as citizens of the world.
We assist international students through the admissions process, as well as provide information and counseling to the more than 100 enrolled international students from 50 countries on non-immigrant student visa regulations and processes, medical insurance, housing, financial and work issues, adjustment to life in the U.S. and academic concerns.
The student-centered International Education Center advises the International Club, whose members include many U.S. students as well as students from all over the world, and assists with its programs such as the International Dinner and International Week. In addition, it organizes and provides support for community and campus activities, such as the Connections community friendship program, the International Student Orientation, and Casa Mondo, the cross-cultural living experience.
The International Center works with faculty and our partner universities to provide our students with summer, semester and academic year study abroad programs in over 20 different countries.
Safety considerations are a key component of each education abroad program.Georgia College adheres to the professional standards of safety and risk management in education abroad. Georgia College is a member of the Forum for Education Abroad, which sets the national standard of good practices.The International Education Center implements the Forum’s Standard 8 on safety abroad and risk assessment.In addition, the International Education Center monitors world events through a variety of government-based resources, including the Overseas Security and Advisory Council (OSAC), the U.S. Department of State, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and other foreign-based resources, including but not limited to: the British Foreign Service and Commonwealth Office and the Canadian Foreign Travel Advice websites.
Georgia College also works closely with its foreign university partners and study abroad affiliates for ‘on-the-ground’ understanding of local events or concerns related to the Worldwide Travel Caution. All Georgia College organized programs require students, faculty, and staff to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), which is a free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals traveling abroad to enroll their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.Additionally, all study abroad students, faculty, and staff are enrolled in mandatory comprehensive medical, evacuation, and repatriation insurance plans.
Georgia College serves more than 6,600 undergraduate and graduate students in four colleges – the College of Arts and Sciences, the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business, the John H. Lounsbury College of Education and the College of Health Sciences with a faculty of more than 300. In addition to the Milledgeville campus, Georgia College provides some graduate programs at Robins AFB and online courses.
From the historic white Corinthian pillars of the buildings on front campus, to the Village and spectacular Wellness and Recreation Center on west campus, Georgia College has to be seen to be believed.
