It can be hard to concentrate on studies with the awesome view of Burke Mountain right outside the window. The oldest building on the Lyndon campus dates way back to…1964.
We think you’ll feel at home in our community of 1,200 students. We are an active lot: most Lyndon students participate in numerous clubs, intramural sports, and activities.
Lyndon is a competitive Division III NCAA school with varsity sports in baseball, basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, and volleyball (women). And our student/athletes really get to play! Lyndon competes in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) in 13 of 15 varsity sports.
Our corner of the state, The Northeast Kingdom, is an outdoor paradise. We’re 10 minutes from world-famous mountain biking at Kingdom Trails and winter sports at Burke Mountain. The campus is less than an hour from Jay Peak in Vermont, and Cannon, Loon, Waterville Valley, and Bretton Woods in New Hampshire.

American History Professor Paul Searls is currently affiliated with study abroad agencies that offer various options to choose from. Students can study internationally and have all their earned credits count towards their respective degree program at Lyndon.
Northern Vermont University-Lyndon is excited to offer an exciting program just for Vermont high school students: the Early College Program. Early College will allow approved students to choose from a variety of courses at Lyndon while exploring their choice of degree programs and experiencing the college academic environment. Each course successfully completed at Lyndon counts toward both high school and college. You must be at least 16 years old and enrolled full-time in high school or in an approved home-school program in order to be considered for admission to the Early College program.
All students in their senior year and their parents will be expected to attend our Financial Aid meeting in January where families will submit both the federal and state forms to ensure the most financial aid they are eligible for. Please be aware that the federal government expects that the benefit of a college education is the responsibility of the students and the parents. Although many of our students have a “0” Expected Family Contribution (EFC), The U.S. Department of Education will determine how much you can afford to pay for college. This will be based on your family’s income and assets.
