Lyon College is a selective undergraduate liberal arts college located in the foothills of the scenic Ozarks. Founded in 1872, it is one of the oldest colleges in Arkansas.

Undergraduates at Lyon can pursue degrees in 15 disciplines as well as pre-professional programs leading to careers in education, law, medicine, physical therapy, and more. Additional programs include the APPLE Project Upward Boundand Upward Bound Math-Science programs for high school students.

Educating Productive Involved Citizens (EPIC), Lyon"s Core curriculum, is a required component of all B.A. and B.S. degree programs. EPIC is designed to introduce and teach students how to be stewards of responsibility and integrity. Through the Core curriculum, students develop an understanding of the intellectual and practical skills essential for engaged citizenship, the historical and cultural heritages that have shaped modern society, the differences within communities and regions around the world, and the personal responsibilities necessary for engaged citizenship.
Ninety-nine percent of Lyon professors hold the highest degree in their field, with many earning their degrees at some of the most prestigious schools in the country. Students interact closely with these award-winning faculty, who offer academic advising throughout the school year to help students discover and shape their goals. Advisors are open to students year-roundat SOAR, in class, in the lab, through the Year One sequence, and during their office hours.
Located at the heart of Lyon"s campus, the Mabee-Simpson Library houses over 215,000 books and sound and video recordings. Also providing access to expanding digital archives and more than 20,000 periodical subscriptions, the library strives to advance instruction, learning, and research in the College with responsive technology and quiet spaces for study
The Morrow Academic Center (MAC) offers free academic support services to all Lyon College students. It currently offers offers both tutoring and supplemental instruction (SI). SI is a peer-facilitated academic support program that features regularly scheduled course content review. The tutoring program is a peer-facilitated academic support program that offers a unique blend of SI and traditional tutoring methods.
