Mount Marty College is a small, Catholic liberal arts college in Southeast South Dakota. Based in Yankton, a historic city of 15,000 people, Mount Marty believes that the Benedictine values of community, hospitality, lifelong learning, awareness of God, and service are fundamental to the daily lives of students, faculty, and staff.
Here, you’ll find a sense of belonging, whether you’re an athlete, an artist, a musician, an academic, or a volunteer. Financial aid includes any monetary resources (other than your family’s) that help offset the cost of a college education. A typical financial aid package includes scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study. Scholarships are awarded based on your academic performance or extracurricular activities. Private scholarships are available through civic and fraternal organizations, and several are awarded through Mount Marty. Moreover, they need repayment. We are ever-thankful to alumni and friends who make such gifts possible. Loans provide funding that you must repay. The repayment of most federal loans can be deferred, at least on a half-time basis, while you attend college.
