Student Engagement offers ways for students to get involved on campus and in the community. Northeastern State University recognizes more than 100 student organizations. Four sororities and seven fraternities comprise Fraternity/Sorority Life at NSU. From orientation teaching traditions in Rookie Bridge Camp (RBC) to one of the 100 recognized student organizations students can meet new people and make friends, learn valuable leadership and social skills, make a difference at NSU, gain skills transferable to the job market, and create college memories.
While engaged in your undergraduate or graduate studies at Northeastern State University, you will be part of our exciting and challenging academic life led by our diverse, dedicated faculty. We offer a number of undergraduate and graduate degree programs on each of our three campuses, with flexible schedules designed to fit your busy schedule.

Students may study abroad in many cases for the cost of NSU tuition, room and board through one of 338 member institutions in 55 countries. In most cases financial aid and scholarships will help cover the cost, and the student may apply for a study abroad grant through the Office of International Programs. Programs are available in English as well as a variety of foreign languages.
NSU has partnered with a number of foreign institutions through which NSU students may study abroad on exchange. Bilateral exchange involves paying NSU tuition to NSU. The student will pay for housing and meals in the host country. In most cases the student may use financial aid and scholarships to help cover the cost. Students may also apply for a study abroad grant through the Office of International Programs.
A collection of knowledgeable and student-friendly instructors awaits. Our Continuing Education programs are taught by accredited professors. NSU"s Continuing Education offers interactive online courses with discussion groups, academic support and more. When you take continuing education courses at NSU, you also tap into a network of resources including Career Services, resume" reviews, job fairs etc. You have a plethora of resources at your fingertips to help you make your dreams come true.
Your path toward lifelong learning and one of many self-satisfying class experiences is just a few clicks away. If you choose a work-related certificate path, the Continuing Education department has many Professional Development choices to select from. Often learners receive CEUs. Our Test Prep programs such as ACT, MCAT, and soon-to-be-added GMAT and Workforce Development courses will assist your academic and career path as you move forward in life. We also have many Youth Academies that can fit a young mind"s interests.
As you enter Northeastern State University’s Tahlequah campus, the paved walkway leading from Muskogee Avenue will take you on a path that embodies the history and heritage of NSU. From the bronze sculpture of Sequoyah, noted 19th century Cherokee diplomat and creator of the Cherokee syllabary, to the clock tower on Seminary Hall that is a symbol of this institution, you will participate in a very unique experience.
Today we are Oklahoma’s fourth-largest public four-year institution and one of six regional institutions governed by the Regional University System of Oklahoma board. The university serves a learning hub in northeastern Oklahoma formed by three campuses – the main campus in Tahlequah and branch campuses in Muskogee and Broken Arrow – which together serve nearly 9,000 students annually.
