NAU is built on a student-first foundation—this was true when we opened our doors 120 years ago, and it’s true now. The traditions and values of our past inform the innovations that help us shape the future. In every classroom, top-flight research powers personalized teaching.
Every one of our programs—undergraduate and graduate alike—is led by expert faculty who recognize and dev...elop students’ talents. verything we do at NAU is oriented to student success. A comprehensive network of advisers, peers and coaches, through a variety of programs, complement our talented and dedicated faculty in supporting students of all backgrounds. Our commitment to inclusiveness and a supportive academic community has made it a preferred destination for non-traditional and underrepresented students who are taking the big step of pursuing a university education.
Another role of a major university is to engage in wide-ranging research. NAU faculty contribute to biomedical advances, answer important questions in earth sciences and investigate asteroids—of course, those are merely a few examples. And even in research we open doors to undergraduates, who contribute in labs across campus, as well as in the field. Involvement is a theme found throughout the NAU experience. In the arts and theater, athletics and student activities, there is always something happening and opportunities abound to participate actively or as a spectator.
Our academic programs, research, public service, and creative endeavors enrich lives and create opportunities in Arizona and beyond. We develop solutions to challenges and drive innovation in a supportive, inclusive, and diverse environment. NAU leads the way to a better Arizona and a sustainable world through personalized attention to student success and scholarly excellence.
We place student success at the center of our academic and service planning, policies, and programs. We operate with fairness, honesty, and the highest ethical standards. We partner with our communities, in the spirit of collaboration, to provide services and expertise to support Arizona, the nation, and the world.
We engage in innovation to create, share, and apply new knowledge, scholarship, and artistry. We commit to the highest quality in all endeavors. When we pair relevant and rigorous academics with personalized support, we change the lives of our students and their families. And when we extend more of these opportunities to more people, we can change the future. ACCESS TO PROGRAMS, SERVICES, INFORMATION, AND TECHNOLOGY INTERIM POLICY STATEMENT
