Thomas University supports student involvement in a variety of learning environments outside of the traditional classroom. Our study abroad program immerses students in another culture to provide a unique learning experience under the direction and support of Thomas University faculty.
When endowed scholarship funds are available to support costs associated with participating in Thomas University’s foreign study experiences, we make those available to students. Check with the foreign study course organizer to know if funds are available. Only students who have paid the $500 deposit indicating their intention to register for a foreign study experiences are eligible for scholarship support funds.

No matter what your level of education is, it’s always a good idea to apply for scholarships at the same time as you apply for admission to TU.
The Student Disability Support Services office serves as Thomas University’s entry-point into advocacy for on-campus, online, and distance students with disabilities. We work with faculty and staff to provide academic accommodations for the unique needs of students both in and out of the classroom at Thomas University. By providing support services to students with disabilities, TU offers an opportunity for student to achieve their academic and personal goals.
At Thomas University professional staff serve as advisors and coaches in developing an academic plan, monitoring academic progress, providing resources, and assisting the student in their course selection. An important first step in registering for class is contacting your advisor. All students are assigned an advisor based on their declared major. All students must contact and discuss course options with their academic advisor each semester to select a class schedule for the upcoming semester. Only a student’s assigned advisor may register a student for classes through the faculty registration portal. Advising is available through office appointments, online appointments, by email or by phone. Advisors help you stay on track for graduation requirements and maintain accurate advising guides and progression sheets.

Thomas University"s origins date back to 1950 when the Primitive Baptist Church charted the institution as Birdwood Junior College at the winter home of the Honorable W. Cameron Forbes, former Governor General of the Philippines, Ambassador to Japan and grandson of Ralph Waldo Emerson. The Forbes Building, built in 1932, is one of the original structures on campus and is still in use today. The architecture of the building inspired the graphic elements of the TU logo and the design of the new Smith-Bonvillian Hall.
