Vermont Tech is part of the Vermont State Colleges (VSC) system that includes Castleton University, Northern Vermont University, and the Community College of Vermont ...and offers collegiate-level programs leading to certificates, associate degrees, and bachelor’s degrees in agriculture; business; engineering technologies; applied technologies; allied health and nursing; and renewable energy. The college also offers a master’s degree in software engineering.

Vermont Tech offers a unique learning experience dedicated to focused, hands-on, applied learning taught by faculty who are experts in their field. The Office of Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) brings this style of education to a wide range of professions and professionals.
CEWD designs and delivers workforce education and training through customized workshops, and courses that can lead to certificates, degree programs, and more. We also partner with respected national vendors to provide online, non-credit training opportunities with an open-enrollment format. CEWD classes are available to everyone! We have courses that serve healthcare facilities, state agencies, non-profits, small businesses, manufacturers, service industries, educators, municipal government, builders, and contractors, as well as those interested in gaining new life skills.
At Vermont Tech, our students are ready for life and eager to get the most out of their days. And we’ve got what they need, from sports and events to music, scuba, skiing, bass fishing, community service, and more.
Classes are small here (just 14 students on average), with a low student-teacher ratio of just 12:1. This means every student is known as an individual by his or her professors and peers, and every student’s ambitions are supported in full by our faculty, staff, and community. We also encourage you to pursue your personal interests through our clubs, athletics, and other nonacademic activities.
Applied learning is more than a buzzword at Vermont Tech. In addition to holding advanced degrees, most of our faculty have business or industrial experience – and real-world involvement is part of every class. The rigorous, broad-based education we offer is balanced out by hands-on opportunities to apply your skills and gain practical knowledge either off campus or by working at our own unique facilities.
As part of the Vermont State Colleges (VSC) system, we are able to keep tuition and costs low for the residents of Vermont and neighboring states. We also provide qualified students with financial assistance and scholarship opportunities. The majority of our students receive some form of financial aid, and we are committed to keeping our programs accessible.
We offer certificates and degrees that have relevance in today’s economy, recently demonstrated by the graduating class of 2016"s job placement rate of 100 percent.
