Wesleyan students have the opportunity to explore any of our 56 undergraduate majors, 38 minors and 4 graduate programs. They include not only focused research within your given field, but also exploration and study within various departments and courses through our general education program. If you’re not sure what you want to study, don’t worry! Our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping you find your own academic voice, and the family you will build here will give you the chance to find the major that fits your passion.
Students may select a minor to complement or support their major program. The selection of an academic minor is optional. In addition to the minors listed below, a student may design a contract minor combining related courses from more than one department. Planned on consultation with two faculty advisors and subject to Curriculum Council approval, such a contract minor should include 9-12 hours in one of the sponsoring departments and should not overlap courses in the major. Guidelines are available in the Office of the Registrar.
WVWC’s Pre-Professional Programs allow students to tailor their courses and research towards completing further study after graduating. Students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor and/or advising staff in Academic Services about majors and electives that best fit their individual needs. These programs are not degree-granting majors.
Wesleyan’s graduate programs are designed for students who have just completed their undergraduate degree or are working adults balancing career and family priorities with graduate education goals. Our graduate programs provide professional growth that can be completed at your own pace; options range from one-year intensive programs to one course per semester over a span of four to five years.
