Ramadan Working timings in UAE

Ramadan is the ninth month and most important month in the Muslim calendar. It is considered to be the holiest month of the year because it has one of the last ten nights of Ramadan, about which the Qur’an is revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on the night of Laylat Al Qadr. The anniversary of Ramadan is considered to be one of the five pillars of Islam. During Ramadan, capable Muslims must abstain from dawn to dusk. Ramadan is a month of utmost importance in the UAE. This is a month of piety, charity, and blessings

According to a notice issued by the Minister of Human Resources and the Emirate on Wednesday, during this holy month, the working hours of private-sector employees in the UAE will be reduced by two hours.

Work timings for private sectors

According to the Government’s official website, the working hours of all private agencies will be reduced by two hours throughout the month of Ramadan. Information on working hours in the UAE is given in Federal Law No. 8 of the 1980 Labor Law under the heading “Changes during Ramadan in the UAE.”  And its amendments reduced working hours to two hours during Ramadan. Even non-Muslims have the right to reduce their working hours during Ramadan. Without reducing their wages.

Work timings for public sectors

According to the notice which was issued by the Federal Government Human Resources Administration, the working hours for the public sector employees in the UAE are five hours during Ramadan. The working hours of all ministries and federal agencies are five hours. Office hours will start at 9 am and end at 2 pm, unless the nature of the work requires additional work time.
