The operator of UAS Technikum Wien is the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien Association (Managing Committee, management). The association bears overall financial and legal responsibility for the university of applied sciences and is also responsible for the strategic development and the operational management of the institution as well as for raising the public’s awareness of the ...institution.
The educational offerings consist of 13 bachelor’s and 18 master’s degree programs, which are offered as full-time, part-time and/or distance study programs. Eight degree programs are taught in English. The educational offerings are based on a solid scientific foundation and are also practice-oriented. At UAS Technikum Wien, emphasis is not only placed on providing a high-quality technical education, but also on subjects with a focus on business and personal development. The Department of Advanced Engineering Technologies focuses on aspects of modern production in its instruction and its research and development activities. It examines processes in production companies and works to develop these further with environmental and economic objectives in mind. This includes the development and manufacture of competitive products, the efficient use of resources and the creation of sustainable, efficient structures.
The Department of Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences (AMUN) currently offers courses in all of the bachelor"s degree programs and in several master"s degree programs. There are currently around 30 instructors who pass on their knowledge in AMUN courses.
The Department of Biochemical Engineering makes biochemical processes, which form the foundation of biological systems, technically applicable.
The Department of Biomedical, Health & Sports Engineering brings together all skills and know-how of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien in the specialized areas of medical technology, biomedical information technology, bioengineering, rehabilitation technology and sports engineering.
The Department of Embedded Systems bridges the disciplines of electronics and computer science. Besides focusing on automotive electronics, test and diagnosis in distributed systems, model checking for microcontroller systems, embedded control and navigation and ambient assisitive technologies.
The Department of Renewable Energy performs research and consultancy projects in the future-oriented field of renewable energies. These projects ensure that instruction is offered in an international context and is based on current research results.
Active collaboration in a variety of the International Energy Agency’s research groups and EU technology platforms, as well as close cooperation with China and Mongolia, ensures that the department is internationally positioned and remains connected to global research and development trends.

The Mechatronics/Robotics bachelor’s degree program offers a solid education in mechatronics with an emphasis in robotics. No previous technical knowledge is required: Students start with the basic principles and learn all of the necessary knowledge in the areas of mechanics, electronics, computer science, sensor technology, processor technology, and actuator technology. Students learn how to program industrial robots starting in the first semester. By the end of their studies, students are able to operate and develop mobile robots.
