The Private College of Economic Studies Znojmo was founded in 2005 with a substantial help of the town Znojmo. It is a non-university type of college with a bachelor degree curriculum. It provides bachelor degree qualifications (graduate degree Bc.) in the full-attendance and combined form of study.
The European Commission has awarded the Private College of Economic Studies in Znojmo with... the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and granted our institution the right to participate in the Erasmus+ programme in the years of 2014-2020. The Private College of Economic Studies in Znojmo ranks among the colleges and universities in Europe which offer the opportunity to its students and employees to participate in study and work programmes and work placements all over Europe. In autumn 2008 the in-house regulations on student selection for internships in foreign companies were adopted in SVŠE. The International Department organized the first students´ internships in China and Slovakia. In the following academic year the offer was extended by destinations in Hungary, Germany and Austria.
The main objective of the foreign internships is to enable the students to achieve the maximum amount of working and personal experience. The foreign internships contribute to professional and personal development of students, to improvement of their language knowledge and communication skills. The internship often plays an important role in elaborating the bachelor thesis and it may improve the students´ position on the labour market.
For the time being the foreign internships are three weeks long. The SVŠE financial contribution includes travel expenses, accommodation and travel insurance.For each internship a contract between SVŠE Znojmo, a partnership institution and a student is signed. This contract clarifies content of the internship and the way it is organized. The International Department is permanently in touch with the student and the receiving organization during the internship. The students submit a final report on their stay after they return from abroad and inform the project coordinator personally. The same is done by the receiving organization after the internship is finished. The supervisor provides SVŠE with a final report and student’s assessment. Internships form an integral part of educational programs of SVŠE Znojmo and that is why they are fully recognized within the SVŠE curriculum. SVŠE encourages its students’ own initiative to seek and choose foreign companies for their internships.
Our object is to send students for long-term internships within the frame of internationally accessible programs, hence we are - within the bounds of our possibilities and conditions - applying for memberships in such programs. The International Department keeps students and academic workers informed about these activities in terms of current news.
The Erasmus Programme (EuRopean Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students), a.k.a. Erasmus Project is a European Union (EU) student exchange programme established in 1987. It forms a major part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme 2007–2013, and is the operational framework for the European Commission"s initiatives in higher.
The objective of this programme is to reach higher quality of university education, to support European dimension in education, to achieve higher mobility of students and teachers within Europe and to increase cooperation between universities and companies.
The establishment of relations and cooperation development with foreign partners is realised in compliance with the priorities defined in the above mentioned concept.

1. Considering the geographical position of the school, which is the only university and modern academic educational institution in the border region South Moravia – Lower Austria the emphasis in the first phase after founding the school was put on establishment of international cooperation with the universities and colleges in Austria, with study programs focusing on economics, management and tourism (Institute for Business Education at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business, Universities of Applied Sciences in Krems and Eisenstadt). On the basis of agreements, exchange teaching, student workshops, host professors lectures, mutual attendance at conferences and cooperation on projects were carried out. In the second phase, SVŠE launched cooperation with companies in Lower Austria and Vienna to offer internships in the international working environment (e.g. Stadtamt Retz, UNIQA Vienna and others) to the students.
2. The next step to establish contacts was addressing the educational institutions and companies in the partner towns of the town of Znojmo, when the priority was to offer the possibility to participate in work internships to the students and the chance to realize projects focused on individual needs of the companies to the academic workers.
3. After being granted EUCH in 2010, SVŠE established cooperation contracts with universities with the same or similar study program and with educational institutions in other countries (Slovakia, Poland, Germany) and those involved in the projects within V4 (Hungary). The objective was, besides the student and teacher mobility, to establish joint master study program in English (in cooperation with Széchényi István University Györ), participation on joint projects (e.g. with Slovak University of Agriculture, Nitra) and student scientific activities (e. g. with Matel Bel University Banská Bystrica). The next step was expansion of the student and teacher mobility offer to Europe and finally to China.
   Since establishing the Foreign relations department in 2009 we have signed contracts on bilateral cooperation with 18 foreign institutions and have realized common projects with several other companies. The objective of this phase has been to enable the SVŠE students and teachers to gain new experience, to improve their language knowledge and to learn to work in foreign environment. The essential condition is active fulfilment of all the contract conditions and taking advantage of all the possibilities they offer.
4. According to our strategy of continuously expanding our international contacts and cooperation we represent the Czech Republic in a huge EU TEMPUS project proposal, submitted by the Institute for Business Education at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. The focus of this EU TEMPUS project (“Ökonomische Bildung durch Entrepreneurship-Erziehung basierend auf strukturellen, curricularen und fachinhaltlichen didaktischen Impulsen für Reformen an Schulen und Universitäten in Kirgistan, Tadschikistan und Usbekistan”, EESCF, 544143-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-AT-TEMPUS-JPCR) is on the implementation of entrepreneurship in three Central Asian countries (Tajikistan, Kirghizia and Uzbekistan). More than 10 universities cooperate in this European project. This project proposal was submitted in February 2013 and if it is chosen by the EU authorities in Brussels this project will run from 2013-2016. In this context it is important to note that the Institute for Business Education at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business has a long experience as project coordinator with different EU TEMPUS projects.
