Around 1,300 men and women are studying at our university, on courses in the fields of Social Work and Social Sciences, Practical Theology and Healthcare and Nursing. The courses at the CUAS Mainz are characterised by a broad scientific foundation, a high degree of practical orientation and numerous complementary activities (e.g. in the field of media, music and theology). The CUAS Mainz is closely linked with two institutes. The Institute of Applied Research and International Relations (ifb) is your point of contact for research and advisory projects in the fields of applied health, social and welfare research, as well as in ecclesiastical social research. The development of international university cooperation and advice on internships and study stays abroad are further focuses of the institute"s work. The Institute of Further Education (ifw) offers a diverse range of further education and development measures to specialist and management personnel from the social, health and education sectors.
The Institute of Applied Research and International Relations (ifb) of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz (CUAS Mainz), is the central service and coordination point for activities in the fields of research and international relations at the CUAS Mainz. The ongoing focuses of the institute"s work include impact research in health and social settings, child and youth welfare, case management, health and nursing research, ecclesiastical social research, and the international exchange of specialists and students. The specific profile as a Catholic university results not only in the educational remit, but also in an obligation to ensure the application orientation of the research and a transfer of the research results into practice. For CUAS Mainz this effectively means tackling current social challenges and problems.
For over 25 years, the ifw has been offering qualified training programmes for specialist and executive personnel. We are able to reflect back on interesting years with impressive changes in social work, the healthcare sector and in the respective organisations. What concepts support structures within organisations, which enable respectful and task-oriented cooperation?
