At present, over 1,000 international students from more than 100 countries all over the world are studying together with 7,000 German students at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, in the heart of Germany and the centre of Europe.
We offer a wide range of different programmes, including short-term and summer programmes, semester and academic year exchange programmes, full-time degree p...rogrammes, international Master’s programmes and preparatory programmes, as well as a career service for international students.
Social activities and accommodation are also coordinated by the International Office. You can count on our support to make your time at the University as pleasant and successful as possible. Everyone in the International Office enjoys working to achieve those goals. At Fulda University we value diversity and the many contributions that international students make to campus life.
The International Office is responsible for initiating and implementing international cooperation programmes. The University has cooperation agreements with numerous other universities worldwide.
The International Office provides an all-round service for international students – from information on admission requirements to help in finding accommodation, advice on all aspects of the student’s study programme and assistance in preparing the return home. The International Office also organises Orientation Weeks before the semester begins as well as cultural events and excursions.
There are at present around 1,000 international students studying at Fulda University. These students come from over 100 different countries and add a multicultural dimension to nearly all our degree programmes. Programmes in business and management, computer science and engineering, as well as our international Master’s programmes, are particularly popular among international students. Regardless of your home country or field of interest, you can be sure of a warm welcome in our international community!
The Language Workshop is open to all students at Fulda University who would like advice on preparing written papers and presentations. Specially trained student tutors give you feedback on your written work in one-to-one discussions and help you to structure and formulate it correctly. Particularly if you still lack confidence in German, the Language Workshop is the place for you.
In the Self-Study and Family Centre you will find rooms where you can study and relax. Whether you want to study alone or in a group, the Centre’s infrastructure is perfect. It has several meeting rooms, a quiet room and even a family room. From Monday to Friday 13.00 – 18.00 you can also seek advice from tutors on every aspect of your studies. Just drop in and see! The Centre is located in Building 44.
Especially for young mothers and fathers, the family room is a perfect refuge. The room is wonderfully furnished with a play corner, a baby changing table, a comfortable sofa where you can feed your baby and a lot more besides.
The quiet room at the Self-Study Centre is another real gem. To help you to relax and recharge your batteries, there are loungers and hanging chairs where you can power-nap. Give it a try – it’s worth it!
Fulda University has set itself the priority objective of promoting student and lecturer exchanges and international research cooperation. Fulda University thus prepares its students for the requirements of growing European integration and labour market globalisation and helps them to develop their intercultural skills. By providing an appropriate range of study programmes, Fulda University is making itself more attractive to international students. It fosters their academic success and their participation in social life.
Internationalisation, intercultural integration and interculturality are key strategic areas at Fulda University. Economic, social and demographic developments have increased the importance of attracting international students. The university is thus facing the challenge of responding to the increasingly multicultural composition of the student body and of shaping interculturality. Student multiculturalism opens up new perspectives – for example, with regard to international and intercultural exchange. Fulda University takes a positive view of the opportunity to embrace this potential and turn it to productive advantage.
“Computers everywhere” is a very good way to describe the status of computer science today. Computer-based solutions are found in almost every area of daily life. From the further development of everyday items to new industrial sectors, computer science is often the driving force, and there will be opportunities to engage in fascinating research in this field for decades to come.
The Department’s professors and associates provide – also thanks to our exceptionally good spatial and technical facilities – general, practically oriented Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Applied Computer Science as well as opportunities for advanced studies in digital media, embedded systems, e-health, internet engineering, media informatics, software development and business IT.
For more than 30 years the Department of Applied Computer Science has been continually updating its study programmes and engaging in innovative research projects to ensure that its graduates enjoy outstanding success in many different business sectors and in society in general.
