To step up collaboration with business companies, the following centres have been created at the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). These combine academic training and continuing education with applied research and business practice. Besides technology transfer, the centres strive to transfer knowledge between universities in Germany and abroad. Student and teaching and non-teaching ...staff exchanges and field trips, as well as common degree programmes and courses and cooperative doctorate programmes are instrumental in achieving this.
The goal of the centres is to ensure that teaching continuously evolves, to promote young scientists, to find new partner universities and to step up practice-focused research in close collaboration with businesses.
The Bavaria/Swabia Technology Network was founded in order to establish cooperation between higher education institutions in certain subject areas
We strive to foster a climate in which diversity can come alive. And so we invite you to take part and help plan and carry out these activities.
Each semester you can learn a number of new languages. You can set up language tandems with international students from all over the world and improve your language skills together with them. Even our cafeteria has international flavour: once every semester you can taste dishes from the home countries of our incoming students.
Whether or not a network functions smoothly depends largely on the number and commitment of its members. That is why we"d be glad to have you as a member.
HNU"s Alumni & CampusClub sees itself as a hub for contacts and information-sharing across all departments and subjects and was founded in 2005. On December 17, 2006, HNU and the friends of the HNU association signed a partnering agreement. To support the Alumni & CampusClub both financially and with words and deeds, an Alumni Advisory Board was appointed at the HNU.
If you are studying, doing research, teaching or working at HNU or have done so in the past, you are entitled to join the Alumni & CampusClub. Membership is free for HNU students and for alumni during their first year of membership. Membership is also free during the financial year after you leave HNU. After that, membership costs € 25 a year.

The Career Service of the Alumni & CampusClub keeps close contact with companies and former students of the HNU. Using this network we can offer excellent support in searching for internships or a job.
Students can use our board for jobs and internships (in German) to explore the current offers and select them according to different parameters.
Businesses can place advertisements free of charge and recruit future employees for their company.
Our students learn at a place where people reach out to and do not shun each other. The latter is often the case at large universities. We"re different. We offer students seminars with a moderate number of participants and intensive support: The lecturers and students get to know each other during their course of study. Our mission – closeness and partnership – is a reality.
HNU is a place with attractive facilities: In 2008 we moved into a new building in the Wiley Park created to suit our needs. HNU has seminar rooms and lecture halls equipped with state-of-the-art media, a Usability Lab and a Logistics Lab – just to name a few of our facilities that enable successful practical teaching.
We want to give students the qualifications they need for the job market and produce qualified young talents for our partners in the business community. Extensive know-how is a must and our courses impart that. Yet we are always guided by the realities as well as current social and economic circumstances.
Know-how is necessary, but it"s not enough on its own. Companies and institutions want to work with responsible and decisive people. The personal development and maturity of our students is a key concern of ours. Our Career Service offers seminars on leadership skills and teamwork; we invite people to take part in integration mentoring and support our students if they wish to study abroad.
One big change for everyone, students and staff alike, was the move to our new building in 2008. It is symbolic of our growth. More young people study here. Above all, we are welcoming more and more students from abroad – and we like to see that because it enhances our diversity.
The HNU concludes partnerships with universities on all continents. We now have a stronger regional and international network than to begin with. What I personally find so wonderful is that all the changes we have undergone have made our everyday work more exciting and enriched our experience.
