At the praxisHochschule, you can complete a dual degree for a Bachelor of Dental Hygiene and Prevention Management and a Bachelor of Digital Dental Technology (B.Sc.). The Healthcare Manager and the Social Manager (B.A.) in addition to the Health Networker can receive academic training concluding with a Bachelor degree. The University of Applied Sciences combines theory and practice in every course programme, enabling students to connect their academic studies and practical work skills. The training and practice integrated study model combines the bachelor studies with career training and practical skills training. To enjoy a variety of professional choices in the future, professional training is required. That is why students at our university have to take care of their studies and work in parallel as a compulsory study form.
The University of Applied Sciences has “problem-based learning” (PBL, also problem-oriented learning, POL) as the fundamental principle for courses. Instead of the classic teacher-centred teaching method, independent learning is also the core element when studying at our university.
Students will set their leaning goals by means of independent analyses of problem cases and case studies in a small group under the supervision of scientists and practice experts who subsequently follow students’ learning results altogether. This learning phase will be supplemented with practice units in our own clinic or other cooperative training practices, where students will take seminars, lectures and self-learning course units.
Through the integration of practice and theory, students can enjoy the acquisition of knowledge, ability and skills but also personal development as a significant element of the study path.

Students may also enjoy an intensive exchange of information here - with each other or with tutors and lecturers - outside of the presence times.
Our guiding principle is to support and promote the development and future of the German health and social system. In the Health System Care of Tomorrow individualized patient-based health care will play an important role, in particular the growing prevalence of chronic diseases and the necessary care and support, interdisciplinary exchange will be a key success factor in disease prevention and sustainable health care, qualified personnel will be required who are able to meet both current and future challenges. Professionals are needed whose work in social and health care services is socially recognized.
Our Strengths: We constantly develop our cases and link them with problem-based learning approaches. We bring work situations into the University and take the University into the companies and institutions of our students. Learning takes place in small groups, because we believe that the exchange between our students and their discussions with one another are essential parts of the learning process. Direct and personal contact between students and teachers is self-evident. With us, learning occurs through the interconnection of knowledge, skills and personal competency development.
Our Ressearch Practice Oriented. Research is not an end in itself for us. The aim of our research activities is to always ask questions, to find answers and to produce findings that can help to improve people"s health and care as well as social aspects of their lives. Research is an important aspect of our teaching. We therefore systematically involve our students in research activities and incorporate our research into the instruction. We disclose any research conducted on behalf of a third party as precisely this. We place importance on communicating the results of our research activities not only in professional circles, but also among the general public. We strive to communicate the results of our research in a comprehensible manner.
