OTH Regensburg (full title: Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg, until recently the Hochschule Regensburg) was founded in 1971 as a college of engineering, business studies and social services. Today it is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Bavaria.

The technical university of applied sciences has around 11,500 students. 50 practice-oriented bachelor and master degree programmes in engineering, business studies, design, architecture, health and social studies offer high quality teaching and research. OTH Regensburg’s areas of expertise are energy & mobility, information & communication, life sciences & ethics, production & systems and building & infrastructure. These areas are tied together by expertise in sensor technology and digitalization.
The university is well-known for its excellence in applied research, and benefits from an active network of around 150 partners in industry. Cooperative applied research spans fields such as renewable energy, sensor technology, mechatronics, bioengineering, computer sciences and automotive engineering.
OTH Regensburg has about 200 partnerships with universities all over the world, including partner universities in Australia.
