Established in 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand , UPES is an UGC recognized and NAAC accredited University. UPES offers specialized B.Tech, BBA, B.A, , B.Des, LL.B courses at undergraduate level and M.Tech, MBA, M.A, LLM programs at post-graduate level. These courses cater to high-growth areas like cloud computing, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, ...aerospace engineering, mechatronics engineering, fine arts, big data analytics, public administration, machine design engineering, computer science, petroleum, graphic and gaming and many more.
UPES campus in Dehradun, which is amongst the most beautiful campuses in India, sprawls over 44 acres with world class academic infrastructure, multimedia enabled classrooms, modern research labs, playing fields, food courts, hostels and other facilities for all curricular and extra-curricular activities of students. UPES faculty comprises of over 500 national and international faculty members. Be it the world acclaimed lecturers/ professors or senior professionals from globally renowned organizations, UPES has empanelled some of the most respected academicians and industry experts. At UPES we take employability of our graduates very seriously and it shows in our placement figures. In 2017 we placed 91% of graduates who were eligible and opted for placements. QS- Qacquarelli Symonds, which is a reputed global ranking system, has awarded 5 stars to UPES for placements and campus infrastructure and 4 stars for teaching.
UPES has MoUs and associations with leading organizations like IBM, L&T, Xebia, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Philips Carbon Black and many more. The major thrust of these collaborations is to facilitate curriculum inputs, guest lectures, internships opportunities and joint research and projects to build strong industry-academia connect. In little over a decade, UPES has expanded its reach across the globe by entering into international academic collaborations with 40 partners in 18 countries. These collaborations are in form of joint seminars, faculty exchange programs, joint research, review of PhD theses and mutual exchange of scientific publications.
