The Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University( VMSU ), was established in the year 2008 by an ACT ( No. 11 of 2008 ) of State Assembly pased by Government of Sikkim and was subsequently notified by the Govt. of Sikkim gazette.
The TKVTSS Medical Education & Charitable trust as its sponsor aims at providing quality education in the fields of sciences, humanities & social sciences, medical, denta...l, paramedical, engineering and management, architecture, etc by establishing and management, architecture, etc by establishing appropriate infrastructure suitable to spread the higher education(HE), vocational education & training (VET) and industry specific employment oriented programmes for the development of trained manpower at various levels enabling overall growth of sikkim, and also, help india in establishing global of sikkim, and also help india in establishing global linkages as supplier as trained human resources across the world.
The Vision of the University is to ensure “excellence in higher education”.The Motto of the University lies in its “Vision, Knowledge and Wisdom”. The Library has a rich collection of academic as well as reference books,journals,periodicals,magazines etc to cater to complete needs of students,research scholars as well as teachers. In fact the primary purpose of library isto support curricular and research needs of students. We have also arranged bus service for students to commute comfortably from various points of the city from morning till evening. In view of safety issues on the road ,we strongly advise the students to avail the service of university buses only .All buses are well equipped with safety measures.
The Cafeteria has been designed to create clean environment and hygienic foods at affordable price. Ragging physical or mental,is a cognizable offence.All students are strongly advised not to indulge in such an inhuman act of cruelty; as responsible citizens, the students are expected to contribute to eradication of this evil from the society completely. If any student is reported to be involved in committing or staging such an offence,he/she will be handled as per UGC rules and guidelines. VMSU provides and congenial environment for character building,personality development and growth for religious harmony and tolerance towards all life forms. Apart from indoor games,the University provides awide range of facilities for outdoor sports like,cricket,badminton,lawn tennis etc.
