Studies at ISLB, which are conducted according to higher education study programmes acknowledged by the Ministry of Science and Education, are dynamic and highly oriented towards individual needs of students, the formation of their practical competence and provision of essential knowledge required for a working career.
The ISLB runs over 700 students with a growing share of international ...students from 8 different countries of the world and nearly 100 academicians and practitioners, the majority of whom hold scientific degrees. All international students are offered the full-time study mode (the duration is 3 years).
ISLB provides a range of market-oriented courses taught in English. These courses are designed to offer students an opportunity to gain a broader knowledge and to receive specialized education in English provided by foreign and Lithuanian lecturers.
ISLB places a great emphasis on the development of student’s professional skills and competence. A significant part of the study programmes is dedicated to professional training. ISLB cooperates with various science and educational institutions, enterprises and business organisations. These contacts facilitate traineeship placement in leading enterprises.
The study programmes implemented at ISLB meet the demands of a contemporary labour market. The Career Centre established at ISLB provides consultancy for students on career planning and job search strategies and tactics. With the help of the Career Centre, our students are better equipped to get a desired position and successfully compete on the labour market. According to statistics, 83% of ISLB graduates get employed in line with their speciality, and 71% of students get a job in the course of professional training, 5% have started their own business.
Most of the ISLB programmes offer a fee&time-saving pathway to the EU degrees or diplomas. What proves that ISLB has won a reputation of a strong international academic partner.
ISLB is successfully participating in the Extended Erasmus University Charter as well. It facilitates student placements abroad and offers a possibility to strengthen student’s skills in the international arena. ISLB has signed over 100 Bilateral Agreements with partner institutions in the frames of LLP/Erasmus programme and Nordplus Framework Programme as well as Master studies in Europe and South Korea. International full-time students may also use this unique opportunity and participate in Erasmus.
ISBL publishes two periodical journals of peer reviewed research papers: “Verslo ir teisės aktualijos / Current Issues of Business and Law”, and continuously conducting a number of international and national projects.
From the very beginning of studies the students are involved in scientific activities. ISLB organizes an annual conference Business from the Students’ Perspective. This event provides a platform for students and young scientists to present their research papers and hold discussions. A special publication offering conference proceedings and a compilation of student research papers is published.
In 2007 ISLB established the Scientific Students Union, an organization that unites students and young scientists conducting R&D in the field of law, organizes conferences and advises students on research paper writing.
ISLB actively participates in international educational and project based programmes. The main priorities are integration into the European educational processes, the mobility of students, lecturers and administrative staff, implementation of international projects and participation in the activities of foreign higher education institutions.
ISLB`s lecturers are regularly invited for teaching visits by foreign higher education institutions. Thanks to a wide international cooperation, every year ISLB receives a number of visiting foreign lecturers and professors.

According to the Article 43 (1) of the Law on the Science and Studies of the Republic of Lithuania (Official Journal, 2009, no. 54-2140) for the improvement of the high school activities quality and implementation of the accountability the Ministry of Education and Science initiated an external evaluation of their activities, involving experts from foreign countries. At the moment it is initiated the external evaluation of the International School of Law and Business.
The evaluation is based on the assessment of the real resources of the high school, self-assessment summary and other documents of the high school, the data collected during the visit to the high school, the data obtained from previous assessment findings and recommendations, and the data on the implementation progress of recommendations and its results, as well as other information about the high school.
The high school is responsible for conducting the self-assessment and preparing of the self-assessment report. The self-assessment report shall disclose the high school’s ability to analyse and critically evaluate their work and to foresee its development perspective. One of the higher school self-evaluation and assessment principles are participation of stakeholders, in other words the involvement of the high school students, graduates, faculty, employers and other social partners in the self-assessment and evaluation procedures.
During the assessment the high school’s activities are evaluated according to the following areas: strategic management, training, lifelong learning, science and (or) art activities, impact on development in regions and country.
The high schools institutional self-assessment summary was presented to the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education on 24 September 2012. Experts visit to the School will take place in 23-25 October 2012. Next international accreditation is planned in 2019.
In order to ensure expectations of students, their parents and employers and legislative requirements International School of Law and Business developed and implemented internal study quality assurance system in 2006. The system has been audited by external auditors ant certified to the ISO 9001 standard. ISLB commitment to quality, continuous improvement, interested parties satisfaction and competence growth of employees remain the main principles of the internal study quality assurance system. This has also been affirmed by the statements of external audits in 2009 and 2012. The auditors concluded that ISLB maintains and improves its internal study quality assurance system to demonstrate its ability to achieve compliance with the service requirements and recommended to extend the certificate of quality management system.
ISLB enhanced its quality management system by integrating Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area and international social responsibility standard IS0 26000.
Transfer of Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area into ISLB quality management system led to the focus on the management of processes related to employees, particularly lecturer’s, selection, education, promotion, study programs development and periodical review, student assessment, resources management, ISLB performance monitoring and analysis as well as public information.
The integration of social responsibility standard measures is a continuous process. ISLB understands and uses it as a mean to increase the benefits to society and to reconcile expectations of all interested parties. Being an educational institution ISLB aims to pass on sustainable development principles to its students, future leaders. The goal is to ensure not only the minimum fair competition and ethical employment level which is required by law, but to follow the best national as well as international practices to maintain employees rights and business ethics.
