LCC International University is a nationally and internationally recognized liberal arts institution in Klaipėda, Lithuania. Established in 1991 by a joint venture of Lithuanian, Canadian and A...merican foundations, LCC has distinguished itself in the region by offering a unique, future-oriented style of education and an interactive academic environment.
Our educational model places broad-based education within the context of a Christian academic community in order to extend education beyond the classroom. As a part of LCC’s vision to prepare students to participate actively in the life of their home communities, the role of each individual in the building of society is emphasized through active participation in community projects and hands on practicums.
LCC International University offers accredited Bachelors and Masters programs in social sciences and humanities. LCC is a liberal arts university. Therefore, each program includes multidisciplinary core curriculum courses which affirm students’ critical thinking and conflict transformation skills while challenging students within a multicultural perspective and Christian worldview.
Throughout the programs, students grow in their communication and leadership competencies. Our graduates apply their analytical and transferable skills throughout their lives in graduate schools, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, while they also engage in community building and civic involvement.
In addition to taking foundational courses in the discipline, students may choose specialized modules within the discipline. Students may also choose to enroll in courses from other disciplines.
Double degree options are available for students in Business, Theology, and English programs.
LCC International University Masters programs are designed for working professionals to earn their degree through a blended learning model, which includes on-campus sessions and on-line sessions.
All study programs are externally evaluated and validated by an independent public agency, the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC).
Current student enrollment is around 550 (33% from Lithuania, 67% International), who come from more than 38 countries of the world. Each semester more than 30 Study Abroad students come to LCC from North American universities. One-third of LCC faculty are Lithuanian while two-thirds are from Western Europe, Canada, and the United States.

As a part of the Lithuanian higher education system, LCC completed an external evaluation process in 2016. This review process included an institutional self-report and a site visit by an international group of experts which happened in November, 2015. The judgement from the team of international experts was a positive evaluation of LCC International University.
LCC International University has an institutional culture where the importance of quality assurance is recognized. The University has developed and implemented a continuous quality improvement strategy and a unique internal quality management system which is based on high academic standards and principles of integrity and transparency.
The University’s culture of quality assurance is based on the institutional mission and values in coherence with Lithuanian and North American requirements, and the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area.

LCC International University (LCC) is unique in that it operates in multiple countries as a non-profit entity, with its main campus in Lithuania and charitable funding coming from many sources, primarily in North America. It also provides fee for higher education services as part of its mission for students from over 25 countries. Thus, it must comply with non-profit status regulations in Canada, the United States, and Lithuania, and must govern itself in conjunction with those country corporation models as well.
LCC is governed primarily by an independent Board of Directors with representatives from North America and Lithuania. The legal foundation of the University is The Statute (the latest amendment on April 13, 2016). LCC receives funding and resources from different sources, with major portions coming from an American charitable foundation (LCC International Fund Inc.; PO Box 4851; San Dimas, California 91773 — [email protected]), a Canadian charitable foundation (LCC International Fund Inc. PO Box 2142; Abbotsford, BC V2T 3X8 — [email protected]). It has a strategic and important historic relationship with a Lithuanian Foundation (Lietuvos krikščioniškas fondas – Lithuania Christian Fund). LCC also receives in-kind gifts from a number of sources, and has faculty and staff seconded from different mission groups along with professional staff from Lithuania and North America. LCC complies with tax and accounting regulations and is audited regularly, in the USA and in Lithuania. It engages in best business practices accordingly, striving for transparency, accountability, and ethical codes of conduct.
Operationally, LCC has a president and a traditional American-Canadian university organizational chart by function: academics, business and finance, human resources, marketing and admissions, student life, and advancement/development. Board meetings occur twice a year, with a board of 24 members from various professions and backgrounds, helping to shape LCC by providing policy guidance, oversight, and global vision.
