Located at the heart of Manila, Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) is a private, non-sectarian, coeducational academic institution that offers rigorous professional degree programs open to local and foreign students.EAC nurtures a diverse student body and cultivates partnerships with various training institutions for authentic, advanced learning experiences rarely matched by other learning institut...ions.From its foundation in 1957 as a midwifery school, EAC has since evolved to offer a wide array of degree programs – from doctorate, master’s, undergraduate, to certificate and diploma courses.Incorporating interdisciplinary, hands-on approach in developing skills in students, our close-knit community makes it what one college guide calls an “urban oasis.”
Emilio Aguinaldo College offers world-class education necessary for students to rise above the challenges of the highly-competitive job market. Its four academic clusters – Allied Health, Arts and Humanities, Education, and Business, ICT, and Hotel Management – is comprised of 14 schools, each offering a wide array of undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate programs as well as diploma and certificate programs, providing students the opportunity to explore their passions. Graduate Programs The Graduate School of Emilio Aguinaldo College offers graduate programs designed to ensure comprehensive and thorough training needed for teaching and research in special fields of study. In furtherance of the mission, vision and objectives of the College, these programs also integrate virtue and excellence in their ultimate objectives. Graduate studies at EAC aim to develop a team of value and achievement-oriented professionals, capable of critical inquiry and independent research to enhance the breadth and depth of knowledge for continuous development toward professional leadership. Further opportunities are also offered to those who wish to return to the College for professional update and renewal or to take up courses in their areas of interest for personal development. These functions make the school an instrument for lifelong learning as students are provided opportunities to relate theoretical knowledge to practical training. This is crucial in order to prepare them better for life and future integration into the working environment. The institution’s educational philosophy, instructional programs, faculty, facilities and environment all work together to achieve this.
Despite Filipinos being intelligent, competent, diligent and smart, the fact still remains – we fall short of the educational standards set by our neighbors worldwide. That is why when the consolidated Senate Bill No. 3286 and House Bill No. 6643 (K+12) was signed into law by President Benigno S. AquinoIII on 15 May 2013 to become Republic Act 10533, Enhanced Basic Education Act,Emilio Aguinaldo College readily rose to the occasion to give the support needed to help the government in the early implementation of the Senior High School program.
On 15 July 2013, the first batch of the Grade 11 students in the Accountancy, Business & Management (ABM) Strand started a milestone not only in the history of EAC Manila, but of the whole country as well. With 30 young hopefuls, mostly from Tondo, Manila – 11 college drop-outs, 7 high school graduates before SY2012-2013, and 12 fresh secondary school graduates – the SHS Program rolled out. Twenty-six (26) were from the public schools, who barely could eat three square meals a day.Considering the economic status of the majority of the students, scholarships were provided for by both EAC (c/o its President, Dr.Jose Paulo E. Campos) and Ayala Group (c/o its President, Fred Ayala). Each of the two (2) shared 24% of the total tuition fee, which was pegged at Php29,000 per year. Likewise, four (4) good-hearted businessmen(mostly from Pastor Arturo Duyan’s Love of Jesus Ministry in Tondo, Manila)agreed to foot the balance of the tuition fee for 16 students. Likewise, at least eight (8) netbooks were provided for student use, but these were not brought home. Wi-fi was c/o EAC Manila.Studying under the Program was never easy, as the English Only Policy (EOP, except in Filipino) was strictly enforced during the entire duration of the Senior High School students’ stay at EAC. Time management was also strictly implemented. Those who came in later than the class schedule received heavy consequences to discipline them and instill in everyone the importance of time as a resource not to be wasted. They did actual research both in and out of the campus, under the scorching heat of the sun and sometimes torrential rains. Each had his Work Immersion (with allowance), but not only for 80 hours, but six times of that, since the industry saw that such schedule was not enough for students to receive a realistic and functional training.Marching to the ceremonial graduation tune on 30 March 2015 at The Pearl Manila Hotel, only 18, who worked doubly hard to earn their SHS diploma, donned the black toga, signifying the start of their bright future. In fact, 100% are now employed in different companies of the Ayala Group, although two (2) shall continue their college studies at EAC Manila – one in BS Computer Engineering and another one in BS in Pharmacy. All the General Education courses shall be credited. This school year, the third batch of the ABM students, together with the Grade 12 class under the SHS curriculum modeling program will start their lives with renewed challenge and hope, considering that EAC is working towards stronger industry linkages.EAC also pilot tested last year the SHS program in the Food & Beverage Services and Housekeeping. This school year, Robotics Education shall be introduced. In the pipeline are Dental Technology-Fixed Dentures/Restoration NC II, Bookkeeping NC III, Automotive Serving NC II, and Security Services NC II. These are proven avenues for employment opportunities for the graduates.
Our founder envisioned the School of Medicine to be an outstanding institution for medical education and health research. As such, the School shall provide an education and scientific environment that prepares the students to become professionally competent, socially-relevant and compassionate physicians with a strong commitment to lifelong learning. It is also committed to undertake relevant reforms on medical education in response to changing national and global health needs and scenarios, as well as newly generated medical information. The School of Medicine is staffed by dedicated, respected and competent academicians, as well as clinicians who are well-known in their fields of specialty. It implements an outcome-based, synchronized curriculum, with early clinical integration and emphasis on interactive learning process. It also boasts of well-equipped classrooms, basic science and skills laboratories and a library.
