Holy Cross of Davao College is a Catholic educational institution nurtured by three religious institutions to answer the needs of the community for quality education rooted in the tradition of the Catholic faith. From 1951 -1956, the Religious of the Virgin Mary Sisters (RVM) laid the foundation upon which the school was founded. The Foreign Mission Society of Quebec (PME Fathers) from 1957 –... 1976 strengthened and improved these structures. And the Archdiocese of Davao from 1976 up to the present, building on the traditions of its predecessors, expanded them to make the Holy Cross of Davao College a prime college in the city of Davao, providing affordable quality Catholic education not only to the people of the city but also to the neighboring provinces.
The college has also expanded physically. A new four-storey building was completed in Bajada for the high school department which was housed together with the college department in the Sta. Ana campus. In 2006 the department was transferred to the Bajada campus. To accommodate the growing number of students, the HRM Building was constructed in 2010.
Holy Cross of Davao College has grown through the years. Starting with a national recognition, it is now internationally recognized. With only two PAASCU accredited programs at first, now it has five programs accredited by four different accrediting bodies. Three of these programs are Level III. Starting with basic education then with three college courses, it is now offering a total of 21 courses. Starting with a campus in Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City now it also has campuses in Bajada, Davao City and Babak, Island Garden City of Samal.
At present Holy Cross of Davao College is working to extend its present boundaries, academically and physically. As it moves forward, it remains rooted in the tradition of its founders and their successors. It is a center of Catholic formation for young men and women as it lives out the commitment of the RVM Sisters, the PME Fathers and the Archdiocese of Davao.

The office manages the research programs of the institution in coordination with the different departments and offices of the school. It provides research opportunities and assistance to administrators, faculty members, academic teaching/non-teaching personnel, alumni and students. It handles the internal and external researches of the school.Internal researches include academic researches, development of instructional materials, and studies concerning student and alumni services, researches promoting culture and arts, finance and personnel policies. External researches are those which are conducted by the school in partnership with other institutions. These may include collaborative studies in which expenses maybe divided among collaborating parties or sponsored by funding institution/s.
The Research Office coordinates with other offices of the school for developmental work such as accreditation, assessment of school programs, planning of developmental projects, and improvement of instructions in coordination with the different academic units. Furthermore, it also facilitates the dissemination of research results to appropriate offices and sectors through presentations in fora and distribution of research journals and abstracts.IRO adheres to the national development goals which aim for quality and excellence, relevance and responsiveness, access and equity, and efficiency and effectiveness. Holy Cross of Davao College, being a catholic institution, aspires to strengthen spirituality and values formation in all her quests including her endeavors for research.
The Campus Ministry, together with the Religious Education Program under the leadership of the School Chaplain forms the hub of the Spiritual life of the HCDC community where students, teachers, administrators, non – teaching and academic non – teaching personnel work together to find God in oneself, in one another, in their relationship, work and study. Working closely with all sector of the HCDC family, we strive to create a favorable environment for the dynamic integration of faith and life by efforts towards unity through the pastoral and spiritual services centered in the Eucharist.
With the implementation of the Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) with 2010 Manila amendments, and with the new development in the National Government tasking the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) as the sole maritime administration, the Maritime Training Center of Holy Cross of Davao is of big assistance to cater to the training needs of seafarers in the region who wish to comply to the new regulations.The Holy Cross of Davao College Maritime Training Center with the support of the administration continues to develop and improve the facilities and equipments at its training site in Camudmud, Samal to provide quality training in the region and aims to offer more training courses in the near future which is of importance to the seafarers specially in Mindanao which comprises 30% of the total population of seafarers in the country.
The Library serves as the center of information sources in the academic community. It provides the different forms of media technology to enhance the teaching-learning process through print, non-print and electronic materials.The library supports the instructional needs of all programs and offerings for the realization of the vision-mission goals of the institution. As a service agency, it becomes the center of inward and outward flow of information that produces effective interaction between the clientele and information sources.
