The Bucharest University of Economic Studies is a research intensive university that organizes study programs and scientific research in the fields of Economic Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Sociology and Humanities. ASE is considered the most important economic higher education institution from Romania and one of the most renown economic universities in South-Eastern Europe. Students are o...ffered the opportunity to pursue a full academic path by attending Bachelor"s, Master"s, Doctoral and Postdoctoral study programs. In addition, ASE organizes continuing training programs, teacher training programs, postgraduate programs, as well as MBA and EMBA study programs.
In its over 100 years of existence, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies has gained national and international prestige. Numerous academics and graduates have been recognized as outstanding personalities, as they have become academics and researchers in prestigious world universities, members of the Romanian Academy of Sciences and of other national and international scientific fora, or of private or public organizations, parliamentary, government or diplomatic institutions. The degrees obtained upon graduating from our University guarantee a high level of scientific training and creativity, and meet highly competitive requirements. Our graduates are well equipped to become a notable presence in economic and public administration institutions in Europe and around the world.
ASE has 12 Faculties, whose nealry 22,000 students can attend study programs in Romanian, English, French or German: 24 Bachelor"s programs, 86 Master"s programs, Doctoral studies in 10 fields and more than 145 postgraduate continuing education programs.

The vision of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies is to undertake the complex role of Central and South-Eastern European regional hub in education and advanced scientific research in the fields of Economic and Administrative Sciences, as well as Sociology (Human Resources) and Humanities, to offer innovative and efficient solutions for the sustainable development of society, against the background of global economic demands.
This vision relies on the promotion of a genuine quality culture, on the creation, dissemination and exploitation of state-of-the-art knowledge, on the proactive involvement of all the members of the academic community, and on the encouragement of functional, competitive and nationally and internationally beneficial partnerships.
Our university welcomes each year approximately 600 degree-seeking foreign students, coming from non-EU countries and approximately 100 incoming students on mobility programs (exchange semester or year).
The university provides services for the international students such as: orientation and integration (in cooperation with the students" associations), accommodation in student halls owned by the university, university restaurants, free internet access on campus, computer rooms, library, university book shop, sports facilities, medical services, career guidance, language courses (11 languages, including Romanian as a foreign language), cultural and social activities.
The Senate of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies represents the academic community, guarantees academic freedom and autonomy, being the highest decision-making and deliberation forum at university level. The activity of the University"s Senate is governed by the National Education Law no. 1/ 2011, by the Charter of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and by its own internal regulations.
The members of the University"s Senate are academic staff and students representing each faculty, elected according to the Election Regulation. The University"s Senate is led by a President elected by secret ballot on the occasion of the first establishment meeting. ASE Bucharest"s Senate consists of 97 members, out of which 72 are academic staff members and 25 are students. The University"s Senate deliberates, decides upon, controls and leads the University according to relevant legislation, to the principles of academic autonomy and the stipulations of the Charter of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
