Our school is a comprehensive university of technology which covers fishery, industry, and business. The three major areas on which we base our development are aquaculture, leisure and tourism, and green energy. We emphasize on both cooperation with local industries and practical teaching in order to equip students with world visions, creative abilities, and professional skills, so that we can ...meet the requirements of national economy and local industries.
We have twelve departments from three colleges and also have five graduate school departments, and the number of students is about 3,015. As for the faculty, the number of full-time members is 121, including more than 102 having owned assistant professorship and higher.

To foster students in professional fields of electrical, electronic, computer and communication for increasing the competition in keen job markets. To extend the applications of electrical and computer science and information technologies, and to culture the talent of wind- solar green energy. To establish and develop the distinguishing feature of regional industries for electrical,information and communication learning fields.
The teaching faculty of the graduate institute is made up of the Departments of Electrical, Computer Science and Communication Engineerings. There are nineteen full-time professors from domestic and outstanding universities from overseas countries,including two full-time professors, eight associate professors and nine assistant professors. The graduate institute contains many laboratories for students learning, including System design Lab, Automatic control Lab, Energy Lab, Wind-Solar power practical training place, Electronic Lab, Digitization Lab, Communication Lab, Microwave Lab, Network System Lab, and Software system Lab, Servo Lab.
The Computer Science and Information Engineering Department(CSIE in short) is dedicated in providing education and hand-on courses for students who wish to become professional engineers in the domains of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic or other related industries. Students are educated and trained in order to be equipped with the skills and knowledge of the subject matter for their preparation in the pursuit of further education or to obtain employment. Three main features in our teachings, respectively, Network System, Software Engineering and Embedded System are integrated in our syllabus. A focus on the information technology and application in the outlying islands is to become a characteristic of the department in the future.
There are fundamental and kernel courses along with the general courses in our syllabus. A variety of selective courses are also available in accordance with the two main features of the department, respectively, Network Technology & Service, and Digital Content & Applications, such as Computer Game, Network Technology, Embedding System, and Digital Archives.
In our programs we have been spending our energy fostering top-notched service business management talents in the fields of both practical training and theoretical development. To go with the demands of local industries in Penghu , this institute has offered many kinds of courses to get prepared for those who are interested in service industry and transportation as well as logistics for Cross-Strait Link. Combined with the human resources of each department for the Humanity and Social Sciences Academy, this institute is aimed at fostering middle and high-level managerial staff. The programs, in general, cover the fields of transportation, logistics, information technology and public affairs service as well as management as the axis of management talents. Therefore, this institute is to satisfy the needs of local service industry and develop future industry as a mainstream.
