The school was founded in June 1952 and named as “Training preparation class of medical workers in the Southern Taiwan”. In August 1953, it was promoted to “Taiwan provincial Tainan vocational high school of nursing”. During fifty years the school nurtures more and more outstanding nursing talents who work in and out of the country and receives deeply praises.
Recently, because th...at the living standards of people were to move up and the requirements of the nursing quality grew with each passing day, under the eager expectations of the society, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education to promote to National Tainan Junior College of Nursing (formerly known as NTIN) in August 1, 2000. It establishes the five-year division, the two-year division, the two-year evening division, and the two-year on-job division, where the first one enrolls graduates of the junior high schools, the second one enrolls graduates of the department of nursing of vocational high schools, and the third one and the last one enroll graduates of both the senior high schools and the vocational high schools. The teaching purposes and visions of the school are to nurture students into practical nursing talents who have international views, science and humanity disciplines and are also able to aspire the self-learning.
On the basis of the spirit of school"s motto—Sincerity, Philanthropy, Diligence, Responsibility, we aim at cultivating nursing professionals who hold a broad world view, awareness of scientific knowledge, concern for humanities, and persistently perusing self-development. In addition, it also aims to broaden students" minds and horizons, cultivate students" caring attitude and their commitment to the profession, and improve their active-learning attitude and competency to solve problems.
To cultivate the professional and practical talents of nursing, graduates are able to possess the following abilities. To apply professional knowledge and skills to clients with individualized nursing care. To apply techniques of communication to collaborate with medical team. To provide appropriate nursing instructions for clients based on their needs. To identify the importance of nursing profession and be willing to pursue nursing career. To participate in professional nursing organizations and be concerned with current trend and development of nursing. To possess ability of information applications and ability of communication in English.
The library is located C building, the dwelling altogether two floors, divide into administrative management area, current unbound periodicals and newspapers area, electronic resources retrieval area, reference books area, multi-media audiovisual area, bound periodicals area, academic journals area, stack area, discussion area, photocopy area, provide reader comfort, efficient and high-quality service.
The library collection by the medical treatment and nursing primarily, unifies information, humanities, society and art, multiplex development, and has various periodicals with professional nursing, academic journals and the multimedia data, provides abundant book and information with novelty and diversification, to meet the demand of teachers and students.
For in accordance to the library electron development, in the hall each work by the computer management, establishes many workstation, may penetrate the academic network to retrieve each kind of electronic resources, and establishes video on demand, simultaneously may multi- people on-line watch the multimedia audiovisual data, builds E learning environment which the research and the leisure pays equal attention to.
