UAE family visa renewal Dubai

Depending on your contract and as a guarantor for your family, their residence visa is valid for one, two, or three years. After this period, their visa will have to be renewed through a process similar to obtaining a new residence visa. Continue reading on to learn more about the requirements!

As a foreign resident, you can guarantee that your spouse and children live in the UAE. Once your (and subsequent) residence visa expires, you will need to renew it. To do this, keep in mind the following prerequisites, necessary documents, and procedures:

Foremost Requirements

  1. The applicant must be a member of the immediate family (husband/wife, child)
  2. The son must be at least 18 years old or study full-time
  3. The daughter under 18 must be single (unmarried)
  4. If you are over 15 years old, the applicant must complete (and pass) the medical test

Usually, the company’s human resources department will handle the renewal of the employee’s residence visa. However, employees (sponsors) will have to deal with the renewal of residence visas for their family members.

Requirements for the Application

  1. Guaranteed person’s original entry permit
  2. Application Form Filled by Guarantor and Guarantee
  3. Three passport photos of the sponsor
  4. Copy of the sponsor ’s employment contract and salary certificate
  5. Original and copy of the sponsor ’s passport
  6. Original and photocopy of AED 5000 financial security receipt (for sponsored son over 18 years old)
  7. Copy of sponsor’s passport
  8. Guarantor’s lease contract and the latest DEWA bill
  9. Medical examination certificate (applicable to guarantors over 15 years old)

Process of the Application

  1. Go to the typing center to fill out the visa renewal application form.
  2. Submit all documents to the nearest branch of Government and Foreign Affairs Administration (GDRFA). In Dubai, they are located at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Police Headquarters, Municipal Clinic, DIFC, and Dubai Media City.
  3. Pay the necessary fees (i.e., 200 AED for a two-year residence visa) and wait for further directions on how to apply for a visa renewal.
  4. Processing time usually takes one working day.

Information

After the residence visa expires, the applicant has 30 days to renew his residence visa. A fine will be charged for late renewal, as follows: AED 25 per day for the first six months; AED 50 per day if delayed by more than six months; AED 50 per day if delayed by more than one year.
